I am at a Harry Potter forum. Do you really expect me to say Twilight?

It's way too hard for me to pick! I am in love with both series, but I prefer the Twilight movie! The Harry Potter movies will never live up to the books.

You're a true Slytherin, PD.

Twilight makes HP look like Shakespeare. Or Dickens. Or, er, any classic you care to mention.

I read the first Twilight book and that, believe me, was enough.

Re: Harry Potter or Twilight?

I think Harry Potter is much more durable. There's a lot more to it to capture the imagination. I tried to read Twilight, but found it silly and poorly written. But then, I am an old lady. Had I encountered Twilight as a teenage girl, when the idea of an impossibly handsome and cool vampire singling me out as his one true love would have been quite appealing, my reaction might have been different.

Even though I began reading HP as an adult, I have always found lots to think about and ponder in its pages. I'm not sure JK Rowling will ever be considered a great writer by history, but I sure have enjoyed her work.

Re: Harry Potter or Twilight?

As I have grown up reading Harry Potter, I would obviously say HP. I have never read Twilight and I dont really intend to. Really though, am I missing out on much? :/

No.

There are so many wonderful books out there to enjoy. Forget Twilight . Discover the classics.

HP is better, but only marginally, in my opinion. It is like the lesser of two badly written books to me.

I've read the first three books just to see how bad they can get. I put my foot down when the 4th one came out.

Re: Harry Potter or Twilight?

I love both, but Harry Potter is a legend, even Stephanie Meyer said it.
And both stories are very different, Twilight is more about love...wich can be boring!
