Super Mario Galaxy

Is anybody else as desperate to play this as I am? It's graphics look cinematic, the gameplay is both traditional and revolutionary, the boss battles look insane, the galaxies look great. The critics are raving. What do you think?

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

Well, I find the unrealism a bit unsettling personally, but this doesn't really matter, as I'm sure I'll get used to it.

And what do I think ? That it's the next game I'm going to buy. Right now, when I stroll down the Wii aisle in shops, I don't see anything interesting, but as soon as Mario Galaxy comes out, you can be sure I'll finally have a new Wii game.

I can't wait for this game! I just pre-ordered my copy from Amazon. I'm very interested to see what they do with the 2 player idea in the game.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

I'll be all over this one when it comes out but sadly this will be the last great Wii game for a while. I wish it would have come out a little sooner as Mass Effect will be released for the 360 a couple weeks later and that will be a time consuming game.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

So, now that it's out, what do you guys think of it ?

Personally, I've never been one to obsess over Mario games (well, except good old Super Mario World, but I just loved the Koopa kids), but still, I think this one is really good. It's nice and easy to play, with bright colors and all (though Sunshine will forever be the brightest and prettiest IMO, but that's just me).
The soundtrack is amazing too !

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

I played it for the first time last night and Wow!! It's really amazing and lots of fun. I didn't get too far because it was late, but I got 2 stars. I like the way you fly to the other little planets.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

Personally I have now fully completed the game, and I'd say it's the best game on the Wii so far (I liked Zelda TP, but in my opinion it lacked some of the "soul" Ocarina of Time had, for example).
The levels are very varied. I think the game is very easy early on, but it gets more and more challenging. Some of the last stars in the game are amazing and challenging platforming experiences.

Also Mario can ice skate backwards and this makes this whole thing awesome.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

My brother got this game for Christmas and before I came back to Uni I played on it a bit, and it is AWESOME. Really addictive! I love the soundtrack too.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

this game is soo great! I love it. Especially shaking the Wii Mote to jump through the stars. I need like 10 more stars, but I'm stuck and I can't beat any more worlds. I think my favourite worlds are the ones with the penguins, and my least favouite are the purple coins.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy

Got all 120 stars as Mario, and I'm working on doing the same as Luigi.

Hardest star, IMO? "Luigi's Purple Coins" in Toy Time Galaxy. Lost sooo many lives there. Seriously, the Three Trial Galaxies were easier.

Who wants to do "Bouldergeist's Daredevil Run" in Ghostly Galaxy as Luigi? I do!
