Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

There were so many great moments in GOF for me. One of my absolute favorites was the portkey to the World Cup. I know it wasn't verbatim the way JKR wrote it, but I loved the way they did it. When they said to let go, I was like, "What? That's not how it works!" and they all fell in a heap I was disappointed, but then the other came in so gracefully, it totally had the right feel and affect to me. Classic.

I was also really pleased with Neville and how he was portrayed and that he was seen more and was more involved in Harry's day to day stuff.

And Harry, when he brought Ced back, that scene was fantastic. The total breakdown of Harry, Ced's dad, the kids in the croud. It was really well done, I thought. Someone next to us was crying, and my eyes weren't dry.

I too was also pleased how Neville was shown a lot more in this one, and hope it means they will be taking his storyline seriously in OOTP, as it would be a waste of such a great actor and character if they didn't.

Favorite Potter Movie! I liked this so much more than the others. The Comic relief was funny and Radcliffe's acting improved a lot.

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

Oh, can't say how glad I am to find a positive thread about GoF. I find alot of people are being very negative, which is quite annoying.
In my opinion GoF was the best movie yet and I think its a miracle how they managed to get all of the important plot from a huge book in there!
There were so many moments which I loved.
~when Filch has to run to the high table and he runs weird!
~the look on the boy's faces compared to the girl's when Mcgonnagall announces the Yule Ball to them.
~the bit where Harry is walking down the corrider and everyone is saying nasty things to him. I felt so bad for him. It really represents how the school feels about him being a champion
~the bit before Harry talks to Cedric and Malfoy's sitting in a tree. He says "Why so tense, Potter?" and then "you see there's a bet, my fater thinks you won't last 5 mins into the first task- but I disagree I think you won't last 10minutes!" I love the way he jumps down from the tree and then we see this gang of Slytherin Boys. I felt like they were going to attack him, they were so intimidating!
~the bit where Harry and Ron meet after Harry has been named champion. Theres this scene where Harry is sat up against his bedpost and he looks so vulnerable and sad. Its touching. Then Harry says "your being stupid" and Ron says "yeah, thats right, Ron Weasley- Harry Potter's stupid friend"
~I love how Hermione is so nervous at the yule ball. After Krum kisses her hand when she's walked down the stairs she makes this funny sound and smiles at Harry. Then after Victor Krum goes to get drinks. You can see how happy Hermione is.
~It's touching when Ron and Hermione argue at the end and in the end Hermione is so angry and sad that she sits down and cries.
~When it is announced that Harry is also a champion ermione urges him to go, but Harry is so shocked he kinda sits down. That really was a good bit of acting.
~When everyone is gathered around Fred and George when they submit their names in the Goblet. Hermione frowns and opens a book. That is so TYPICAL of Hermione!
~Fred and George were excellent in this film and their hilariousness really shined, whereas in the past films their jokes were lame, here they had me rolling about in the cinema seat!
~The bit where Harry and Ron are about to make up and Fred and George tell everyone to get on with what they were doing because it would be embarassing without them all being nosy.
~The bit where Ron wants Hermione to pass on a message but keeps on forgetting. "I'm not an Owl!" made me laugh. Also when we find out later that the message was Ron's way of telling Harry about dragons and Harry says "Who could figure that out? It was mental" HAHA! that was hilarious!

On Actors/actresses
~Daniel Radcliffe has greatly improved his acting. In the Maze/graveyard/moody-being-found-out scene he was amazing. His reactions were so realistic and he truly was brilliant at acting out Harry's journey in this book.
~Emma watson was great as Hermione. Although I must say she is beautiful, where Hermione isn't. She was excellent at acting Hermione out, especially in the Yule Ball scene.
~Rupert Grint, once again, played Ron fantastically. His acting was amazing. He was especially good at acting out the Yule Ball and his jealously was great!

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

The graveyard scene. Best scene in any of the films so far (including PoA which was my favourite). Dan's acting has improved 100 fold (the scream of agony when Voldermort touched him was a far cry from the ouch in the first film) and Ralph Finnes Voldermort was, for me anyway, spot on. I loved that scene so much!

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

Ohhh positivity - i like it!
i loved the GOF film because it was so funny yet so moving and scary at the same time!
my fave bits have to be...
The second task - i loved the whole setting, with the huge stands, and the eeriness of the underwater.
The whole humour of the Harry Cho situation - especially the part where he spits his pumkin juice - made me giggle!
Oh and when Ron returns from asking Fleur out, I was in hysterics!
The whole graveyard scene I thought was amazing!
The whole film was great definitely the best so far. And the acting has improved so much - i loved Rupert Grint as Ron, he's perfect! Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were too. It was a real pleasure to watch!

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

the film was okay. if you'll base it on the book, you'll definitely be disappointed but if you'll see it just a movie itself it was great!

the effects were cool. i love the first task. you know, the hungarian horntail chasing harry. it was amazing.

it's a great movie!

The twins! finally got to see them shine, they need more lines in my opinion. Great job to whoever allowed them to retain lines this time.

I must say there were plenty of funny momments, and lets all face it the GoF was much better than PoA
That's a matter of opinion. And your opinoin is yours. don't force it upon me. I hate it when people try to do that.

Anyway, because they took so much stuff out, I seemed to enjoy the stuff they put in the most, like Snape's study hall scene. And the twins fight, and the students chanting "fight, fight, fight". It definately didn't feel like a fake school anymore to me. It felt very real.
And flitwicks extra bit of screentime was very fun. as well.

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

I really did like the movie. There were many things I didn't like about parts of it, but overall I enjoyed it. These are the parts I liked the most:

1. Malfoy the incredible bouncing ferret.
2. The learning to dance scene was really funny.
3. The scenery at the Yule Ball was wonderful to see.
4. Hagrid and Madame Maxime dancing (watch that hand, Hagrid!).

I love that part too! I also love the scene when Snape hit Harry and Ron in the head. I love the scond task and how the trio finally started to act. I also love how Neville got more screen time. Oh, I also most forgot the bouncing ferret. I love that scene and I'm so glad they kept it in.

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

The screenplay was brilliant -not that I'm rejoicing for all the cut scenes or them modifying the story- because it's tough work to crop a story in so many places and mend the harsh edges so that they make sense. In the process they did modify the story, but oh well, no other options and they did it well.

The acting was better. Hungarian Horntail - simply breathtaking.
And the emphasis on Neville works - non-readers start to call themselves 'Mrs Matt Lewis' already! At least they are prepared for more of Neville in OotP.

For me it had to be Hermione and Hagrid singing the Hogwarts song. I absolutely lost it at that part.
I sorta sang with them. My brother nudged me hard to shut me up.

Here here!! It's funny how Snape doesn't seem so threatening in the movies than in the books. It was a hoot watching this scene

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

The whole film exceeded my expectations. It was great, especially the Yule Ball. I also liked the bit where Harry spilt orange juice down his front when he caught Cho's eye in the Great Hall. The little touches of humour certainly lightened the mood of the film - especially when Snape wallops Harry and Ron simultaneously for not keeping quiet when they should have been studying!

Well, now, nobody can seriously pretend that the chemistry between Ron and Hermione isn't obvious... And THAT is gooooood!
