Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

I would say it is very possible that Al would end up in slytherin. It would make a whole other story to create on how he would have the choice of being a good or bad wizard. Or he could be in gryffindor just to keep him with his brother and his closest friends (Rosie)

I think that he would end up in Gryffindor. All of his family was in Gryffindor so he would follow the same path.

I thought it was cool that his name is Albus Severus Potter. What a name!

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

In my mind he ends up in Slytherin. I mean, we can't expect that all of Harry's children will end up in the same house, and well, it would be boring if they all did. I think they should have at least one son who is tempted. I think he could be tempted by dark ways, but I think it would end up good for him in the end. He may go astray, but he'd come back and be a better man for all the struggles went through. He'd learn a lot about life and love.

I think Slytherin. They all can't be in Gryffindor.

We shouldn't rule out Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.
I wonder if in the encyclopedia Rowling might write if she will specify what house he's sorted into.

I kind of hope he winds up in Ravenclaw.
How about Hufflepuff?

He is going to most likely whisper to the sorting hat that he wants to be in gryffindor and like Harry he is going to end up in there.

How do we know Rosie's in Gryffindor? After all she has mom's brains and not being muggleborn she has less need of courage and she was almost a Ravenclaw. I like the idea of Al being in Hufflepuff. After all, he is loyal to his family in his wish to not be in Slytherin.

Overall, I kinda like the idea of the next generation having some "cuckoos". I think Harry would be, after knowing Sirius, very sympathetic.

All the Best,

Lunatic

I'm pretty sure he ends up in Gryffindor...i don't know why he would be in Slytherin. I think the only reason the Sorting Hat considered Harry was because the part of Voldemort that was inside of him.

Absolutely true. Harry's and Ginny's kids all go in Gryffindor.

On the otehr hand, it might be possible that Ron and Hermione's kids are offered a chance at Ravenclaw.

Re: Albus Severus Potter: Character Analysis

The only huffelpuff in the book was Tonks... well... hmm. Let's just say not Huffelpuff

Unless you check Cedric who was not so bad.

DD says are choices are what make us who we are and ASP will choose Gryffindor and the SOrting Hat does take into account your requests. I think the only reason *** SOrting hat wanted Harry in Slytherin is because of the horcrux of LV

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

I think it could be interesting if he did end up in Slytherin, as it would create a lot of possibilities for him to change the stereotypes... but I have a feeling that he probably ended up in Gryffindor. Although I do like the idea of him ending up in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw as it would definitely throw a twist out there.

Haha, I don't think that's necessarily sound evidence for him being in Gryffindor, but it'd be a nice thought...

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

Gryffindor, because it appears that the Sorting Hat takes your choice into account.

It might seem lame that all of them Potter kids get into Gryffindor, but all of the Weasly's (Arthur, Molly, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny) were in the same house, so it's not like he's gonna be in Slytherin just because there should be some difference between him and the rest.

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

He has the middle name of a Slytherin, but his grandparents and parents and uncles and aunts and cousins are all in Gryffindor, and he wants to be in Gryffindor. And if anyone had proven he belonged in Gryffindor, it was certainly his father. Had Voldemort not left a piece of himself in Harry, I doubt that it would have been a question at all.

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

Slughorn did say houses often run in families, so I say Gryffindor. I do think it would be nice if some children were in other houses though, in the interests of following up on the Sorting Hat's concerns about sorting causing division.

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

I think he would be a Gryffindor. He doesn't want to be in Slytherin and the Hat takes that into consideration.
And how could Harry Potter's son not be a Gryffindor?

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

I think that he will be in Gryffindor, because to me, the only reason the Sorting Hat thought about putting Harry in Slytherin was because he had the part of voldemort in him, and that was removed before Albus Severus was born.

Re: Albus S. Potter - Slytherin or Gryffindor?

I think the point JK Rowling was trying to make is that it doesn't matter what house Albus was sorted in, and I think that by that time Hogwarts will have been more united as a school. So, I personally am not bothered as to which house he went in.
