Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

It seems like HBO has had those two for a long time, I don't mind sharing if they want to let us 'borrow' them for a full blown marathon.

Went and checked Zap2it and it's showing HBP too now, but it's showing it as running from 7-10:30 Sounds like the scheduler had gotten into the Fire Whiskey before he made that schedule. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what kind of surprises they have for that half-hour no matter when it is.

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

My mistake on the 7:30 time. I'm the one w/ too much Fire Whiskey. I like it neat, with a Butterbeer chaser. Quaffed a few earlier w/ Hagrid & Slughorn. They were singing up a storm!

Your usual bangup job, Brattyc. I thank you and the whole wizarding world thanks you. The only remaining question is what about the extra five minutes on SS.

Thanks, it's always my pleasure to make it easy to find the way to a marathon.

I think I figured out the extra five minutes...the movie won't actually start then, they're just giving you that 5 minutes to hit the bathroom so you won't have to leave the couch and miss a minute (especially on Saturday)

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

Or maybe a 5 minute introduction trailer/commercial? I've never actually watched any of the Harry Potter weekends, though, so perhaps they do that anyway.

That said, thanks for the breakdown of the films. I've never before had ABC Family (or the time to watch all the films when they're on), but this time around I may be able to have some sort of limited access. Worth a shot.

A quick question from more of a book devotee: are the ABC Family extended editions comparable to the WB-released Ultimate Editions of the films? Or is there even some disparity there in the footage?

Welcome to the forum, MrSleepyHead. I believe the answer to your question is yes they do match. Can't be 100% certain as my copies are not WB-released. Perhaps someone who does have them can chime in. Absent that, your question may have been addressed in the early days of this forum. I do know that the ABCF version of DH1 matches the deleted scenes listed here (corrected link):http://www.mugglenet.com/movies/movie7/dhpt1dvd.shtml

I noticed that POA is not showing in the grid in either FIOS or Zap2it in September. Maybe it rolls back to ABCF soon. p.s. Hey Brattyc, look for my owl.

Looks like POA is still hanging with HBO and CoS is on Cinemax. Try entering Harry Potter in the search box at Zap2it and it'll bring up all HP shows for the next 2 weeks.

I saw the owl has arrived, I'm off to give it some owl treats now

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

I just checked again and it seems the last HBO listing for POA started at 7:30. Here's a link to the page:

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/harr...000?aid=zap2it

And a link to all of the Zap2it HP listings, hope this helps.

Okay, I stocked up on owl treats so send it along.

I meant September, not August. Sorry.

Zap2it only goes 2 weeks in advance, so if it's not showing then it won't be on the first 2 weeks in September. Maybe that's a good thing since DH2 hasn't been listed for a while and that's the first time for a very long time that they haven't...could it be a sign that maybe they're heading back to ABC Family where they belong? Lets hope so

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

This is slightly off topic but worth posting. There's an interesting Potter-themed show on REELZ channel if you get it on your system called FanAddicts. There's a young fella who is the same age as Dan. He grew up with the Potter mania and became a memorabilia collector (Lucius' walking stick, Potter trading cards etc.) that got him in to the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest collection. He's now in early adulthood and ready to part with his 13 year collection. Saw the first half of the show and liked it. Next showing 10 pm EDT tonite w/ numerous reruns to follow.

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

HBO and Cinemax have a free preview this weekend. Details here: http://www.freepreview.tv/hbo/remind...s-weekend.html COS on Cinemax is the only HP showing. Also on Cinemax, you might try Erotic Bigfoot, if you got a thing for Sasquatch.

Just a bump to remind every one about the marathon that starts tonight.

By 'every one' I guess you mean me. The popups seem to be getting worse. I counted three in a row during the doe patronus scene in DH1, effectively ruining it. After they premier DH2, I'm going back to my DVDs even though they're standard def.

LOL, I know you'd remember, that was for the others that may forget. I know, I hate all that stuff popping up especially since I'm recording them on my dvd recorder. I seem to only use the recorder for HP stuff so once I get the extended DH2 I'm thinking of disconnecting it in favor for my HD dvd player (I keep the blu-ray in the living room with the big tv). I'll still look forward to the marathons, gotta love watching it with millions of others, it's almost like being at a midnight premiere

Re: ABC Family's Versions of the HP movies

Just a heads up, ABC Family just started listing HP on their schedule. For right now they're showing SS on Wednesday 10/16 starting at 7:30 pm - 11 (Eastern time). Zap2it only goes to 2 weeks in advance so we'll have to wait and see where it goes from here, I'll keep you posted
