Re: Favorite non-Hp book #2

I've got hundreds of favourites! But I'll try not to post them all! One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey is probaby the saddest and most beautiful book I've ever read but I also love The Green Mile by Stephen King, East of Eden, Of Mice and Men and The Grapes of Wrath all by John Steinbeck, Call of the Wild and White Fang both by Jack London, Catch 22 by Joseph Heller (definitely the weirdest book I've read but I LOVED it!), His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman, The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger...there are sooooo many more! I feel guilty about leaving them out but I'd be here all night if I listed them all!

Re: Favorite non-Hp book #2

My favorite books are in a series. The series doesn't have a name though.
Each book has it's own name they are....
1.So You Want to Be a Wizard
2.Deep Wizardery
I can't remember the rest of the names but the series has 8 books in it right now and there's more to come.

Well I'm really a total girly girl at heart so I would have to pick:
-A Little Princess
-Ella Enchanted
-The Princess Diaries
-Kushiel's Dart
-A Great and Terrible Beauty
-The Hobbit (this one grew on me)
-Eragon

Re: Favorite non-Hp book #2

My favorite non Hp books would be............
Jeffrey Archer"s False Impressions
Dan Brown"s The Da Vinci Code
The Hound of the Baskervilles
Agatha Christie"s Sparkling Cyanide
Jane Austen"s Pride and Prejudice
I don"t know why ,but I have always liked Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.........
I first read it when I was 10.........till now I am quite enchanted with it ,perhaps because the story is quite simple..

Anything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Also Angels and Demons is a good book, along with Da Vinci Code.

Who is your favorite non-JKR author?
Wouldn't say I have a favourite but I love Garth Nix

For which books is he/ she famous for?
The Sabriel books, I don't know the name of the trilogy as a whole

Why do you like his/her writing?
I love the way he writes Zombies! (or Dead Hands, as they are called in the books) And the whole interpretation of the passing into Death is so original

Re: Who is your favorite non-JKR author?

1) Philip Pullman
2) His Dark Materials Trilogy
3) That trilogy is the most amazing story I have ever read! I love fantasy and even though the ending is sad it is still a wonderful story. Also, many of his ideas are almost believable and I know he tries to use real scientific principles (though obviously as its just a story he doesn't always get it right...)
