Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

Robert Pattinson dies.
I'm kidding :')

That whole studying scene. Snape pushing Harry & Ron's heads down.
Also do like the graveyard scene. And I like the fact that Harry & Cedric kind of united as friends/school and both went for it (despite it leading to Cedric's death).
As other's have said, Ralph Fiennes was brilliant.

I actually never really liked this film at first. Then I watched it a couple of months ago, for the first time in years probably, and loved it. (And also watched it last week xD)

The graveyard scene was amazing, Amos' and Harry's reactions to Cedric's death were heartbreaking.

David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr! That actor can do anything brilliantly.

I like how they emphasized Ron's shunning of Harry because he was insecure about Harry being famous and everything, even when it was turning into negative attention.

I actually kind of liked the World Cup scenes in the stadium if you don't worry too much about what's not in there from the book. I felt like I was actually seeing an awesomely huge stadium with professional broom flyers, jillions of spectators, and magical scoreboard effects, etc.

Okay...something positive about GoF...
I liked the Yule ball, it was in a good setting, characters really played well in the scenes and the band was pretty good too. There were funny bits in it,such as Ron dressing up in a awful suit. It was pretty funny...
Oh, the ferret scene! that actually made me laugh. It just was phenomenal!

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

Hmmm I know, I'm a book purist, so I was disapointed in every movies since PoA. I know they must cut many things, but I almost never agreed on what they cut. And I really don't like the things that are added and are not in the books!

So, I thought that the maze was mess. Nothing, just a run for the cup in the middle. No magical creatures ect. But, because we must say something positive here, I would say the cimetery scene. It was perfect. Everything in that scene was perfect. Cedrick dying just when they arrived, Voldemort (Fiennes) was awesome. I just missed his red eyes!!!!!

But the feeling of that scene, the priori incantatem, Harry's parent and all, it was completly brillant.

Why couldn't they make all the movies sticking to the books like this?

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

I thought the battle between Harry and Voldemort at the end of the movie was incredibly well done. I've been peeved that the wand link animation has been used in virtually every film since GoF, but I thought that it was appropriate in this instance. Plus, the introduction of Voldemort back in his human form was very exciting.

I liked Cho Chang -awkward silence- but yeah I really liked Katie being cast as Cho.
I also liked the graveyard, the death of Cedric and also the reaction from the stadium when they see a distraught Harry crying over Cedric's body.

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

The scene when Mr. Diggory breaks down over Cedric is not only one of the most haunting in the series, but it really outlines the new direction the series is taking, more than any change in art direction or tone can do. It showed that the whimsical adventure fantasy series with dark subtexts had finally become a dark, coming of age story with a lot at stake for its characters.

I think it's a wonderful film, but this scene sealed it for me.

Babbling, bumbling band of baboons!
And the Hungarian Horntail was epic.

They did all the tasks well just left out or changed a lot in between. I liked the begining with Frank. Also the Graveyard seen was how I imagined it would turn out like.

Neville. I just watched it yesterday and Neville was excellent in every single one of his scenes. Props to Matt Lewis. The 'I killed Harry Potter' scene at the second task gets me every single time.

Re: Say something positive about The Goblet of Fire

The Graveyard scene is great. Voldemort really seems like the evil 'person' he is in this scene, good work by Ralph Fiennes!

(My problem with the GoF movie though, is that there are many good scenes but not much between each scene)

I loved the Hungarian Horntail, and Brendan Gleeson. Of course, the introduction with Fiennes was awesome as well.
