I definitely recommend the Artemis Fowl series. They're really humurous and you just can't put the book down. It has some really strong characters who you just love to love. READ IT!!!

Re: Favorite non-Hp book #2

I Love the Chronicals of Narnia but my favourite book has to be The Mill on the Floss by george Elliot. It takes a few pages to get used to her style of writing but she is the only author who can take me from hysterical laughter to hears in half a page! Also in her time nobody bought books by female authors (believing women had nothing worth saying and were of low intellect) so she was a pioneer of her time and it is also why she published her book under the name of George Elliot.

My fave books: (mostly fall under the category "chick lit" like "chick flicks" only in written style.)

1. The Second Assistant by Clare Naylor and Mimi Hare
2. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
3. The Family Tree by Carole Cadwalladr

Definately 'Magyk' by Angie sage! It's part of the 'Septimus Septology'. In fact, I recommend it! It's brilliant! Also, 'The Bartimaeus Trilogy', which is absolutely hilarious as well as action-packed! These books are of course fantasy books!

Re: Favorite non-Hp book #2

The Haunting Of Alaizabel Cray, definatly, and the Abhorsen Trilogy...both of which remind me so much of Harry Potter

(Alazibel Cray is by Chris Wooding, the Abhorsen Trilogy is by Garth Nix)

My favorite book, which just happens to be non-HP is "The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things" by Carolyn Mackler.
