It'll be interesting to see Natalie & Nadiya on here. They were pretty annoying on the Amazing Race for both seasons they were on it. Maybe here they won't self destruct like they did on TAR.

This should be an interesting season with all new to survivor contestants... that said, not looking forward to the return of exile island. I think it detracts from the game.

Really?, I always liked exile island, to me it was as close as the show ever gets to real life surviving . I liked to see how a player copes with being all alone with nobody to help them . I also liked to see the player interactions that lead to one player getting sent off to the island. To me it says something about the choices that the players make in where the players stand in the tribe.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

I like exile island better than redemption island but i still feel like to a point it's an unfair advantage to the hidden immunity idol... that said the last few seasons have also had unfair advantages to for the idols so who knows...

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

Well I think it was a good start .I loved the you gotta defeat your loved one start to the game . Sending off players to Exile Island right away was great. I had hoped to see more of the camp building but I guess there is just so much that the show can do in the first ep. Well I'm liking the type of challenge they started off with I hope we get to see more like it .

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

agreed. I think it was a very good start and I like that the teams ended up fairly evenly matched. I also love that there are no clear villains yet. Should be an interesting season.

Also did I misinterpret the clue for the idol or wouldnt the idol be on exile island not at camp? or maybe it's both?

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

I finally watched the first episode.

I think the tribes are pretty evenly matched. I liked the twist of sending the defeated loved one to exile along with someone from the winning tribe.

I loved the immunity challenge. I loved watching both teams work together. Seems like the orange one worked better on the physical part but train wrecked on the puzzle part. It'll be neat to see how the various personalities develop in the game.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

It's funny cause as a cast I don't think these people are as compelling as past survivors, however whats really making things interesting this time around is the blood element. The vote out would have seemed pretty run of the mill if is wasn't for the promise made to Val's husband about looking out for her. Now I have to wonder if Val's husband will take things out on Julie (I think that's her name)

Either way I'm surprised the one tribe hasn't won anything yet. And have to laugh that the other tribe lost their flint... I'd be on that beach looking like crazy for that.

Curious to see what happens next week with the giant man-ego-splosion.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

John Rocker sure isn't getting any love in the game and it looks like it is only going to get worse for him. I feel he is getting a bum rap. sure he did things years ago but why is that important now? I mean people do grow and change but no one seems to be trying to learn if he has changed or not they are just acting like he is the same guy from years ago.

THe challenge at the beginning of the show is becoming my fav. thing for this season .

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

yeah but I think in life and especially in a game like survivor perception is everything. Look what happened to Nadyia. Voted out first cause she was perceived a threat due to her experience on amazing race. Your past will haunt you early on in this game, especially when people dont have good reasons to vote you out.

And with Rocker, evidently people have big memories. I'd like to see them give him more of a chance.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

I noticed it in the first show and again in the last show ,the ones who you would expect to be good at the physical challenges really sucked at them. I wonder if that is planning so that they don't get picked off for being too much of a threat ,or if they just suck at the game ?

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

Well that doesn't happen very often... the other tribe getting into players heads after a challenge... Not to say that the right person didn't go home because he did, but I thought it was interesting that someone on the other tribe helped plant the seed. I wonder how much she will pay for that down the road.

Oh I know! I have a feeling that her mouth will really land her in trouble. That's the way she was on TAR. I do not want her to even be on the jury at this point.

I loved some of Keith's comments when he and Josh were on Exile. Keith is very much a good ole country boy.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

Well John never got the chance to play the game in my opinion , He spent almost all his time trying to do damage control because of his past. That said I feel he was the right one to vote out at that time.

YAY they finally won a Imunity challenge Even if Drew was trying to throw it to them . I like how Drew the self confessed "Leader" of that tribe was the one sent packing. I also liked how so many names got put up at TC. It sure showed that they were not all on the same page.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

drew = idiot... you dont decide on your own to throw a challenge... why would you do that?

As far as John goes, Dalton Ross who writes the survivor recaps for EW brought up a good point, why have all new to survivor people but bring on people that are famous with a past. The whole point of all new people (no returning players) is no preconceived notions about anyone, but when you bring on people who are recognizable from other places it puts them on a different playing field.

Re: Survivor San Juan Del Sur "Blood vs. Water 2"

I wonder if the show just brought John on, just for the controversy he would create by being there?, Naaa the show would never do that !

Drew was stupid to throw the IC, unless he truly believed he was safe and in charge of his tribe. Even so it was a stupid thing to do.
I liked how Kieth put the bulls eye on to Jeremy's back about having the idol and then him going out and finding it for himself. He did say at TC that he may have been wrong about it .
Wow Exile Island is a lot more ugly than I thought it would be. I can sure see why it would be a hardship going out there.
