Re: The Walking Dead

I think it's awful that we have to wait an entire year. The finale was really good. I had a feeling that they wouldn't be able to stay at the CDC for long. Anyways, I guess we can look forward to the DVD/Blu ray March 8th.

Not particularly bright maybe, but very human. It helped to set up Rick's character, too. Not of all the characters were in favour of the plan, either, but for those who were, it may, at a later date, show how they've changed/hardened/whatever when faced with a similar situation.

Thanks. I expect Merle to return, too. And I'm hoping for Morgan and Duane to do so as well.

I thought that the final was pretty nail-biting and I can't believe that we have to wait a year until Season 2. I'm used to shows from the UK having fewer episodes but I expect more from the US.

I wonder what Jenner whispered to Rick. There are so many possibilities. I'm really tempted to hunt down the books. As far as I understand it, the television series has strayed quite significantly.

Yeah, the show does stray a lot. They never go to the CDC

I enjoyed the season, but there's a part of me who wishes it was a bit closer to the books. I know it's not suppose to be just like the books, but I can't help comparing the two and everyone else I know who has read them does the same thing. There's some things in the books I would have liked to see play out on the show, but maybe they'll do them in season 2.

That's par for the course anymore, thank George Romero for that. The moral behind most zombie movies is, you can't fight against even a common enemy if you fight amongst yourselves; most survivors wind up dying in zombie movies precisely because of infighting. The unit cohesion breaks apart, and people are then at risk. Actually though, while a valid observation, it would be nice to see something different and fresh for once. It kinda makes all zombie movies the same (outside of having zombies in them o' course)

Then gain, people always do stupid things in horror movies. They always go to investigate that sound alone, (when a smart person would run the other way) they always drop their weapon at an inopportune moment, (like Harry did at the end of CoS when he found Ginny) etc.. it's just too easy of a plot device.

Re: The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead should have brought something new to the genre. It didn't, and that's extremely unfortunate.

Your welcome. If it sticks to the books we will see a return of those characters. I definitely expect to see them next season.

Awesome another book fan.

I feel the same way as you. As your spoiler points out I was a bit surprised when the story went in that direction. But I actually enjoyed it.

I know, right!??!!? I wanna knowwwww! But I bet it won't be revealed until like mid 2nd season. A part of me thinks Jenner told Rick about Lori & Shane. Maybe Jenner heard or saw their convo in the rec room? But I also think it might be bigger than that.

Spoiler: show
I wasn't impressed with the finale. I enjoyed it but wasn't taken away with it. Doesn't every first season finale end with an explosion or fire? Even though I knew they weren't all gonna die in the explosion, the build up was great. I'm upset Jenner decided to stay behind. He was a scientist & someday, could've found a cure. Why did he just give up? I wanted someone to shout at him "is this what your wife would've wanted from you?!"

I loved the raw emotion between Dale & Andrea. That scene proved why I like this show. I also have a small appreciation for Shane. This whole time, I thought he betrayed Rick intentionally, but now I see that Shane does have the potential to be loyal & caring.

I thought it was ok as well. Seconded. It's still better than some tv shows out there. The writing could be a little stronger though.

Re: The Walking Dead

I missed the finale because I had to work! I hope it was good. I'll have to watch it when I am find the time. And yes, it does suck that we have to wait a whole year.

Re: The Walking Dead

Stephen King is reportedly in talks to write an episode for the second, or possibly third, season. If all goes ahead as planned, he'll likely be teaming up with his son, the author Joe Hill.

Also, has anyone purchased S1 on DVD or Blu-Ray? The special features don't look half bad.

I am very excited about the King news and I heard about this some time ago.

I bought the blu ray the day it came out. It has some pretty cool special features. I enjoyed watching the making of the show.

Awesome. No plans to buy the DVDs, but I do have the 1st season saved on my DVR right now. Can't wait for the new season to begin.

It was! I almost skipped it because I was so annoyed at the long wait. Glad I watched!

I did not see that ending coming. Dang. looked really definitive.

Survival is easiest in numbers, i think. Do you think Shane should simply deal with his feelings and stay with the group? I do. He's needed there.
