I'm not at that point yet.

I'd watch the 1st, 2nd and 3rd season straight one after the other, and I enjoyed that. I couldn't wait for the forth season! I hate the week's wait before the next episode - that's the only thing that's bugging me about the show!

Has anyone seen the CBS Bromance video? It is all kinds of awesome and makes me hope for more.

Re: How I met your mother

In case anyone hasn't seen the new episode, I'll put this in spoiler tags. It appears that the mother has been found...
Spoiler: show
...and it's Sarah Chalke. I thought she might be back when I realized Scrubs is probably over. Still, as much as I love her on Scrubs, I wasn't overly fond of her on HIMYM. Hopefully, it will be different this time...

Re: How I met your mother

Well...
Spoiler: show
While it is possible that Sarah Chalke is the mother, I don't believe he ever actually said he met their mother in this episode. The episode where they were supposed to get married seemed to indicate she wasn't the title mother Ted is talking about. Although I agree that was the tone conveyed in this episode. He just said that life is fated and he was standing on that street corner in that situation for a specific reason, but that seems to be the premise behind the show in some respects. That it isn't just meeting their actual mother, it is about the lessons he learned in life and how they led him to meet and have a relationship with his wife. I'm guessing they are giving themselves wiggle room depending on how long the show lasts (if it tanks next season, she could probably be made the mother) and just generally keeping it interesting.

I was spoiled before I saw the episode, so I knew it was gonna be Stella. But I paid really close attention to the wording, and I just don't think she's the mother. I read an interview with EW's Aussiello and one of the producers or writers or someone, and he said they'd always planned on confirming who the mother was in the last episode of the series, and unless this series only has one more season, I just don't think it's Stella. She probably just plays a big part in Ted eventually meeting the mother...or at least that's my theory.

Re: How I met your mother

Spoiler: show
That was quite the episode. I was sort of just swept up in the buildup and the tension of it, so I admit I was fooled by what is obviously a fakeout. As PLIMPY mentioned, the Shelter Island episode clearly (and hilariously) came out and told us Stella isn't the mother, so it's most likely that she does what Robin couldn't and introduces Ted to her, or something like that.

I was temporarily disappointed in what I thought was the reveal, because as good as I thought Sarah Chalke and Josh Radnor were together, I thought the Stella/Ted relationship moved a little too fast for her to be the mother (I mean, we went from her not being open to a relationship, what with her job and her daughter, to they've been going out for weeks and it's going so well). Plus, would Ted have continued the story so long after they first met if she were the fabled mother? Or what, would he have kept going and used a fake name initially to keep up the element of surprise for the kids?

It's a funny thing, this show can only go on so long before becoming implausible due to its storytelling premise, but I can't say I wanna see it end anytime soon; it's one of the best on TV. Barney's storyline of hitting 200 was excellent, as most of his stories are - the only other character on TV I've seen be this sleazy and still this likeable is Bender on Futurama, and that was because he was a robot.

I'm also sure that she isn't the mother. I wasn't spoilt though and couldn't help a disappointed groan when I saw her. I like the actress but not the role.

I'm excited about Barney/Robin in the upcoming episodes.

I suppose you guys are right...they didn't actually confirm that she is the mother. I don't really want her to be. Still, he was carrying the yellow umbrella, and didn't he once say something about having that umbrella when he met the actual mother?

Which most likely means that she will introduce him to the mother at some point. If I remember correctly, Ted explicitly stated that Stella is not the mother when he told his kids the story of how they almost got married.

Re: How I met your mother

Oh the second page of this thread is a big bunch of spoiler tags that I, with a great amount of restraint managed to stay away from.

All my friends were going mad over it, and I tried my best to stay away (in my defence it came up so suddenly that it became like a Twilight phenomenon so I wanted to keep my distance. However I relented on Twilight too), I've finally relented and I just watched the first season on DVD in three days straight. I'm quite enjoying it, and looking forward to getting my hands on the remaining seasons

YES, come to the dark side! We are legendary!

If I was asked to pick a favourite season, I wouldn't be able to - but one of my favourite plot line is the Slapsgiving one.

This is a great show for it's one liners too!

Yes it is!

I will come back and post when I'm done and can actually read spoilers

I think my favourite episode so far is the Game Night episode. I LOVE Marshall's game!
If you say what you have to drink

Did they actually move in there? I can't remember seeing that place again in the last season...

I like this show, it´s a bit crazy and I like shows like this, that are smarter than the other comedy shows, it´s not the tipical comedy

I know I've watched every single episode; I just can't seem to recall it.
Hmm, maybe that's a good excuse for a re-watch.

yea, maybe you just did not notice, they just show them sitting and watching TV...in the first episode they have it. After they buy it, it does not really show them move in.

yea....

Season premiere is Sept. 21! Wow, hard to believe it'll be the 5th season.
