I watched the episode about Shakespeare again earlier, it was a QI:XL

Really good show- Guests were Sue Perkins, Bill Bailey and David Mitchell

Re: Qi

Have people been watching the J series of QI? I swear this programme gets better and better.

My favourite part of recent QI history is Ross Noble and Professor Brian Cox talking about where you would need to be in the universe to throw an Ewok into a lake of frozen farts...

It certainly is! I might be a bit thick, but I wasn't entirely sure who that Reverend guy was...

He used to be in the band the Communards before he had a career change! Derinitely an engaging storyteller! Loved the one about the band member trashing the room!

Re: Qi

Yeah, I heard Stephen Fry mentioning the Communards...but I thought he was joking...

I thought he was indeed Quite Interesting

I loved that too, and I loved Stephen's story about Shaun Ryder and his gift to everyone for disrupting them- I mean, it's Shaun Ryder, you'd expect the partying and the disruption...but giving everyone bottles of brandy (and from the sounds of it, pretty spensive brandy...) was quite a nice thought, I think

He's still recognisable:-

Sadly I'm old enough to remember them at the height of their fame...

Re: Qi

Now, I do know who the Communards were, and Jimmy Somerville, but he's the only one I'd know. Can definitely spot him though

Re: Qi

Doing rewatch at the moment, if you can call it a rewatch cause I haven't watched all episodes in the first place. Anywaay, I'm currently at the End of "E". I love the show. I don't think I can get tired of Alan. He's adorable, really like a puppy (like Stephen called him).

I thought about my Dream Panel, but this is actually quite hard. It definitely contains David Mitchell and Bill Bailey, not sure about the other one.

One I can certainly do without is Jo Brand.

That one is my favourite as well. I can watch it over and over and it's still hilarious.

I also love the bits when Stephen speaks German. He's mocking us most of the time, but it's still funny (and true).

Re: Qi

I liked her too at first, but then someone pointed out that all her jokes are about sex and men. Now while rewatching I realize how right that person was.

On the contrary. At first I was annoyed by Jimmy Carr, but now I don't mind him at all.

And then there's Johnny Vegas. He's a (nut) case on its own. Every time he opens his mouth, all I can do is stare at the screen, blink and think "What?"

Re: Qi

i like Jo Brand on it - and Bill Bailey. I can do without Jimmy Carr but have enjoyed Johnny Vegas and Phil Jupitus, along with Graham Norton. I thought Ronnie Ancona always did well and i REALLY enjoyed Dan Radcliffe on it.....

It just goes to show how individual comedy is.......

But it wouldn't be QI without Stephen or Alan..

Re: Qi

Very true- when it was on that 24 Hour Panel People, there was no Fry I think...that wasn't right

I might be wrong though, either there was no Stephen or no Alan (or no both)...I forget

Re: Qi

There was one regular episode where Alan wasn't there, cause he was at an Arsenal game. In Series D I think.

Any idea who that might be?
It's not Alan nor Rob Brydon.

As do the producers as Jo has made more appearances than any other panellists (excluding, of course, Alan) with 29.

Tied for second place are Bill Bailey and Phill Jupitus, with a very respectable 28 appearances each.

I've always thought it was John Sessions...

There is a possibility that I might be wrong though. My opinion, not fact.

It's just the way that, in at least one episode, he was practically answering the questions before they'd been fully asked, and Stephen Fry was telling him off for it, and he actually looked really annoyed.

My least favourite guest is Gyles Brandreth- he REALLY irritates me...

Oh, and following up on your post, Wab, isn't Rich Hall credited with the most appearances in a single series? In one series (I forget which) he appeared on either just over or just under half of the episodes.

Re: Qi

It's probably just me, although I like John Sessions, he irritates me somewhat on QI, because he jumps in on all of the questions. I'm not doubting his knowledge, it's just that occasionally it seems as though he's beginning to answer before the question is asked...

But like I said, it's probably just me.

Re: Qi

It's Rory McGrath

Re: Qi

I don't think Rory counts as a regular, he was there only twice.

Clive Anderson looks like someone who wants to make sure that everything goes his way, but then he doesn't know everything all the time.

Someone on another forum posted that an insider told them that all panellists receive the first 4-5 questions beforehand, so that they can prepare some jokes, but no one gets the General Ignorance ones.
