Re: The Simpsons

I think now that the Simpsons have to put the show to rest, I mean I have lost interest in it, and I think it is getting a little too old, I mean I used to love it, but now...not so much, I don't watch it anymore.

Re: The Simpsons

I still love watching the good quality re-runs, especially if I haven't seen them in a little while.

Re: The Simpsons

My CW affiliate here in South Florida is playing "The Regina Monologues", the episode with J.K. Rowling, right now. (Can't believe I post on a Simpsons thread on an HP forum without mentioning that one straightaway!) Of course, she's only in it for a few seconds, but I just think of it as "the episode of J.K. Rowling".

I don't watch The Simpsons much at all anymore. It just doesn't catch my interest since the earlier seasons.

Re: The Simpsons

I like the episode where Bart donates blood to save Burns' life and Burns doesn't give them riches. So Homer writes a letter bagging Burns out, and Bart posts it even though Homer decided not to. Then Homer goes to the post office to get it back.

Homer: Hello, my name is Mister Burns. i believe you have a letter for me.
Clerk: Okay, Mr Burns, what's your first name?
Homer: I don't know.

Cracks me up every time.

Re: The Simpsons

I haven't watched The Simpsons in such a long time. I used to watch it all the time when I was younger (when I was a bit too young, I would say, but I was always mature for my age). I used to watch it with my brother. He was a pretty big fan. Don't think he watches it much anymore either, though.

Re: The Simpsons

I love this show, I just see it on random occasions these days. It has tons of great moments. The most recent one I saw was when Apu was up on the school stage singing "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone". It was funny when he went "dudooodud,dudooodud,dudooodud..."

Re: The Simpsons

I absolutely adore the Simpsons, but I agree with people when they say that the old ones are better- the "classic era" is said to be seasons 1/2-8/9 depending on how you feel about season 1 and season 9. My favourite season is season 5, with episodes such as "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", when Homer, Apu, Barney and Principal Skinner form the Be Sharps, "Bart Gets Famous", where Bart is on the Krusty show and becomes the "I didn't do it" boy, and "Lisa Vs Malibu Stacey" where Lisa makes her own doll.

Hmmm...doesn't the Regina Monologues also have Tony Blair in it?

PS Ralph Wiggum is the best!

Re: The Simpsons

My fave is the episode where the Simpsons go on the witness protection program, because of side show bob, and become the Tompsons.

Yea, Ralph is pretty funny.

Ralph: Are you still my friend, Bart?

My favorite Ralph Lines:

"Can Lisa come out with her hands up?"

"Hi Principal Skinner! Hi Super Nintendo Chalmers!"

That second line made me laugh when I first heard it ... Ralph can be really silly at times .

Re: The Simpsons

Oh, well I have to post these classic Ralph lines then:

"I bent my wookiee".

"My cat's breath smells like cat food".

"Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies, and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me".

"Me fail English? That's unpossible!"

"That's where I saw the leprechaun. He told me to burn things".

Ahhh, Ralph.

Re: The Simpsons

Apparently Ralph is Matt Groening's favourite character.

Re: The Simpsons

I actually enjoyed the movie. I think it had some good moments in it that made it funny. Spider Pig was the best.

Yea, same here -- the movie had it's funny moments. And it was actually funnier than a lot of the movies that are out now. Gotta love Spider Pig, Hairy Plopper and Between a Rock and a Hard Place .

Yep and the prank with Russ, Bart, and Homer. That was totally classic. I love Bart's prank calls to Moe.
