My dad has his CD! It's so depressing and sad. Makes you want to go crawl in a hole and cry. But yeah it was sad when he died. And "Hurt" was probably the saddest song I've heard.

Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division is pretty depressing...

When the routine bites hard
And ambitions are low
And the resentment rides high
But emotions wont grow
And were changing our ways,
Taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again

Why is the bedroom so cold
Turned away on your side?
Is my timing that flawed,
Our respect run so dry?
Yet theres still this appeal
That weve kept through our lives
Love, love will tear us apart again

Do you cry out in your sleep
All my failings expose?
Get a taste in my mouth
As desperation takes hold
Is it something so good
Just cant function no more?
When love, love will tear us apart again

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

this was popular during World War II. It is sad because of the troups that were away fom home.

I suppose that it can be said for all times of war.

I'm know I'm going to think of a different one as soon as I write this, but I think "Colorblind" by Counting Crows is beautifuly depressing.

Every time I listen to Fire and Rain by James Taylor, it makes me cry. It just makes me really sad.

Re: What's the Saddest Song you have ever heard of.

I have quite a few that make me teary. Some os the lyric smean a lot cos I've split with my bf not long ago. Theres:

Paramore // Emergency
Cause' I've seen love die way too many times
When it deserved to be alive
I've seen you cry way too many times
When you deserved to be alive

Dashboard Confessional // Hands Down
Hands down, this is the best day I can ever remember
I'll always remember the sound of the stereo
The dim of the soft lights, the scent of your hair
That you twirled in your fingers
And the time on the clock when we realized it's so late
And this walk that we shared together
The streets were wet and the gate was locked
So I jumped it and I let you in
And you stood at your door with your hands on my waist
And you kissed me like you meant it
And I knew that you meant it
That you meant it, that you meant it
And I knew that you meant it, that you meant it

Lostprophets // Always All Ways [Apologies, Glances & Messed Up Chances]
I guess I'm trying to say I'm sorry,
But it always comes out wrong,
I think a part of you still loves me,
Even though we're moving on.

They make me cry

For me it's Marco Borsato, a Dutch artist, with Afscheid Nemen Bestaat Niet which means there is no such thing as goodbye. It is like a funeral song and it is so pretty and sad at the same time.

Re: What's the Saddest Song you have ever heard of.

I'm not sure who it is who sings this its a country song heres some of the words.

Don't laugh at me
Don't call me names
Don't get your pleasure from my pain
In God's Eyes we're all the same
Some day we'll all have perfect wings
Don't laugh at me

Everytime I hear this song Iit makes me bawl, the video is sad too.

Re: What's the Saddest Song you have ever heard of.

The songs by Fergie and Paris Hilton(can't remember the song titles) are really sad, every time i hear them a little bit of me dies...
Okay thats probably not what you meant by sad, many The Cure songs make me sad... In the right way not the Fergie/Paris way.

Re: What's the Saddest Song you have ever heard of.

There's a song by Michael W. Smith called "I Hear Leesha" about coping with life after lose that came out right after my Me-Maw died. I still cry every time that song comes on.
