Finding out that Saw 3 and Saw 4 were both happening at the same time. Pretty crazy if you ask me.
Definitely. The Saw series has great plot twists.

I agree about The Sixth Sense. No way did I see that coming.

Definitely "The Sixth Sense". I never saw that coming. To be honest, it wasn't something you really expected to happen either.

Rebecca caught me off guard.

Spoiler: show
Mr. de Winter (Laurence Olivier) actually hated Rebecca's guts, "accidentally" killed her, and stashed her body in the boat. And Rebecca wanted to die because she had just been diagnosed with cancer. Crazy stuff.

I just watched No Coutry for Old Men and couldn't believe that
Spoiler: show
Josh Brolin's character died offscreen! One second you're prepared for a showdown between him and Javier Bardem, and the next second Tommy Lee Jones finds him dead! Talk about the rug being pulled out!

Ooooh has to be the one in the Sixth Sense! Although, I found the film really boring once I'd already watched it because it's pointless when you know what's coming.
Also the twist in The Others TOTALLY got me
Spoiler: show
The family living in the house that they think is haunted by ghosts actually turn out to be dead (but don't realise it) and the 'ghosts' are in fact living people, living in the house

I definitely agree with these two...The Sixth Sense and The Others.

Others I'd say are
- Hancock, which has already been said.
- The Wicker Man
Spoiler: show
The guy thinks he's come into town to save his daughter, and it all turns out to be a plot to kill him as a sacrifice

- The Secret Window
Spoiler: show
Johnny Depp's character is the killer, he just doesn't know it because he has dissociative identity (aka multiple personality) disorder.

- I Am Legend
Spoiler: show
I was so shocked when Will Smith's character wasn't really the last human alive. And I wasn't expecting him to die at the end.

Hancock's was really surprising if you ask me.

And you all are going to laugh at this. (please don't kill me) Dark Knight:
Spoiler: show
I don't read the Batman comics so while I saw Dark Knight I was shocked that Harvey Dent became Two Face. Ok now ya'll can laugh!

^Hey, if you don't know the story, you don't know the story - it's all good. But since you brought up The Dark Knight:
Spoiler: show
Officer Godard not really being dead. Wow! Him getting shot was a big enough shock as it was. That was cool - I didn't see that coming.

Spoiler: show
I was so mad when he got "killed." Then when he came back I was shocked!!

Yeah, I was also pretty surprised by both of those twists in The Dark Knight:
Spoiler: show
When Gordon was "killed" and then when he came back!

Re: Plot twists in movies you never saw coming?

Spoiler: show
I was so angry about that at first, because A) Gary Oldman's just one of my all-time favorite actors, period, and B) You can't kill off Officer Godard. You just.....can't! It was so awesome when he came back though - the whole theater cheered.

Re: Plot twists in movies you never saw coming?

I know these have already been said, but I have to agree that The Sixth Sense and Fight Club have two of the greatest plot twists ever. I love films that are completely unpredictable like that.

Wanted
Spoiler: show

Angelina Jolie's character Fox including herself in the circle shot execution of the assassins. A mild surprise.

For me, I would say: (and I will leave these in spoilers)

Batman Begins:
Spoiler: show
Liam Neeson's character turning out to be the bad guy.

Sixth Sense
Spoiler: show
Bruce Willis' character turning out to be dead!

That Sixth Sense one got me too. I never expected it.

The Dark Knight
Spoiler: show
Instead of saving Rachel Dawes, Batman saves Harvey Dent.

Yeah, I didn't see that one coming either.

Also, The Village, I didn't really like the film, but I never saw the twist coming:
Spoiler: show
It's actually set in the modern day and not the 1800s as it implies.

And Se7en, that was a real twist, it was sad and gruesome and unexpected:
Spoiler: show
Gwyneth's character is murdered and Brad's character commits the final murder, for Wrath, in revenge.

Re: Plot twists in movies you never saw coming?

Spoiler: show
The ending of the movie, The X-Files: I Want to Believe... Mulder and Scully in a boat together sailing off into the sunset (Scully in a bikini and Mulder in swimming trunks - random and silly yes, but it's how they wanted it to be) -- a happy ending in the X-Files, who would have ever seen that one coming ... and they CERTAINLY earned it . And I liked it.

Definitely Sixth Sense, and City of Angels, and Hancock was a bit of a recent surprise twist actually...
