Re: Perfect Albums

My perfect album is Lifted or the Story's in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground by Bright Eyes. Every song on it is solid.

Re: Perfect Albums

The Age of the Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets. So full of win, it's such a great album.

I'd also say that Alright, Still by Lily Allen is a perfect album. It's one of those albums where, when listening to it, I can go "Oh, I LOVE this song."

Also, I'd say in the realm of JPop, that Melon Kinenbi's Best-of album, Fruity Killer Tune, is a perfect album. So is Morning Musume's "4th Ikimasshoi!"

I have this album and don't actually like a lot of the songs. The ones I do like I really like, and I can tell some of the others are good songs, they're just not my taste really

Re: Perfect Albums

I love Take This to Your Grave by Fall Out Boy. I remember loving that record when I first got my hands on it a couple years ago and I'm still loving it to this day - they are my all-time favorite band (hence the signature).

This record came out before they got huge with songs like Dance, Dance & Sugar, We're Goin Down. And, by far, this is their best record IMO 'cuz I've never skipped a single track.

Re: Perfect Albums

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1991 Album BloodSugarSexMagik is the only album I own that can listen to every single song on the album without being tempted to skip any. I love every single song on that album, even the little one minute spoof one they have on there.

Re: Perfect Albums

I really like "This is the life" from Amy Macdonald and (don't laugh) the soundtrack from Kingdom of Heaven. That last one is perfect when I'm working... It's not to distracting.

Re: Perfect Albums

Joshua Tree by U2 is an album that comes to mind when I think about perfection. I can't really think of another album that I can listen to without needing to skip some random filler song.

It still blows me away, even though Ive listened to it hundreds of times.

If I had a runner-up it would be Kid A by Radiohead.
I think we're very similar musically...
My perfect album would have to be Animals by Pink Floyd. My runners up would be Absolution, Kid A, and Sam's Town by The Killers.

Re: Perfect Albums

^ Well while I love OoS and Kid A my other favourite albums are all heavy/death metal. Muse and Radiohead are my exceptions to the rule.

Re: Perfect Albums

I always loved Muse's "Absolution". I pretty much love every single song on it.

Another great album is Paramore's "Riot!". I know alot of people wouldn't agree, but they're one of my favorite bands, and I think it's much better than "All We Know Is Falling".

And my last great album is The Fray's "How to Save a Life". All of the songs are beautiful, and each one has a different great meaning. Isacc's voice is up to perfection!

Re: Perfect Albums

How about Origin of Symmetry by Muse, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What Im' Not by Arctic Monkeys, and Hot Fuss by The Killers. My opinion on perfect albums, anyway...

Re: Perfect Albums

Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, Sunset Rubdown's Dragonslayer, Sufjan Stevens' Seven Swans and Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest.

But really, for me it has to be NMH's ITAOTS.

Absolutely.

I'm not sure I'd call them perfect but two other albums I love every song of:

Night Electric Night
by Deathstars and Everybody Hates You by Combichrist. (Also stand by OoS and Kid A by Radiohead)

Abbey Road and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles.

I love them and they're as near to perfection as any, I'd say

I agree! How could I even forget SPLHCB? I love their White album as well. It was fantastic.

I like Led Zeppelin's IV. The sound was just mind-blowingly epic. And Sufjan Steven's 'Come on! Feel the Illinoise' record is perfect in every single way. From the arrangements, the sound and his voice. Oh, Sufjan, how about another album since, it's been uhmm, 3-something years already and I'm kind of growing tired of 'Chicago'? Haha.

Two of my personal faves from a Mr. Rick Wakeman: The Six Wives of Henry the VIII and Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the round table.

Re: Perfect Albums

Hmm...

Led Zeppelin IV would be the greatest, but I am not really that fond of Four Sticks or When the Levee breaks...

Houses of the Holy. The songs range from go from earsplitting, mind-numbing rockness (The Song Remains the Same, The Ocean, The Crunge) to a reggae experiment (D'yer Mak'er) to emotional songs that capture something special (No Quarter, Rain Song) and Dancing Days is just fun.
