Re: Perfect Albums

If I could choose two albums to listen to for the rest of my life, I would choose Bob Marley: Greatest Hits and The Black Album by Metallica. I like many other styles of music, but these two albums are the most complete that I've ever heard.

Re: Perfect Albums

Maroon 5's Songs Abut Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long, IMO are both perfect albums. There isn't a single track on either of them that I don't like, and I never tire of listening to them.

Re: Perfect Albums

The Smiths' The Queen is Dead. It's got everything - anger, wit, tragedy, and some killer guitar riffs. There are emotional epics placed next to perfect pop songs, and the occasional humorous interlude. It's a real rollercoaster.

Re: Perfect Albums

Well, call me biased, but in my opinion, Bowie's 'The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars' is one of the best records ever made. It tells a story (it's a conceptual album about an alien rock star), each song is completely different from the others, and well... It has Ziggy!

Re: Perfect Albums

Alicia Keys's first album was amazing! I really loved it. "Songs in A Minor" really showed her strength as an artist and musician. I loved how she was able to incorporate something as classical as the piano in everyone of her songs.

Oooh...I totally agree...definitely a musical masterpiece. Orchestra's make rock music sound so much better at times!

Re: Perfect Albums

I've yet to find a completely "perfect" album, but the album Light Grenades by Incubus was awesome! I'm also a huge fan of any album by Rage Against The Machine - especially Evil Empire

Actually, I use to have one of my best albums cover, which I love, on my signature from time to time here in CoS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

OK lets name some of My Albums, those albums I love:

-Queen "A night at the opera" (Just to name one, I love all Queen albums)
-Metallica The Black album
-Meatloaf "Bat out of Hell" (Well I love the whole trilogy, but the first one is the first one)
-Blind Guardian "Nightfall on Middle Earth"
-Iron Maiden "Fear of the dark" (Very meaningful to me cuz I saw Iron Maiden during their Fear of the dark tour and it was incredible awesome)
-Iron Maiden "No prayer for the dying"
-Iron Maiden "A matter of life and death"
-Scorpions and Bon Jovi which albums? XD
-Jon Bon Jovi "Young guns"

Re: Perfect Albums

My perfect album would have to be Coco by Colbie Caillat. There isn't a song on there that I don't love to listen to. They're are such good songs!

Re: Perfect Albums

'Meat Is Murder' by The Smiths is about as close you can get to perfection, I think. Not a single track out of place.

Let's see, there are several unnamed so far.

Supertramp's "Breakfast in America"
Sade - "Promise" and "Diamond Life"
Was/NotWas - "What Up, Dog"
Frank Zappa - "Sheik Yerbouti"
The Moody Blues - "Days of Future passed" (they have others, but this is the most solid)
Yes - well, i would name most, but let's specify "Close to the Edge", "Fragile" and "Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe"
Jethro Tull - "Aqualung" and "Thick as a Brick"
Heart - "Dreamboat Annie"
Emerson, Lake and Palmer - "Brain Salad Surgery"
The Alan Parsons Project - "Tales of Mystery and Imagination"
Blue Oyster Cult - "Secret Treaties"

Enough for now

Re: Perfect Albums

Franz Ferdinand's debut, self-titled album. There isn't a song I don't like, and it's essentially the reason why they're my favorite band
The Arcade Fire-Neon Bible. I could listen to this one over and over again and not get tired of it. There's always something new that you notice and the music is just SO COOL!
Panic at the Disco's newest album, Pretty.Odd. is amazing as well. I've been listening to it nonstop for nearly a month now
Also, Modest Mouse's albums "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" and "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" are perfect because their songs are interesting and fun and, like the arcade fire, you notice something new every time.

My favorite album is "Avalon" by Roxy Music, I've got great memories of holidays hearing that music in the car when I was very young. I also love "Nothing like the sun" by Sting.
