Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

Do you think they'll release it, or withhold it in respect to Heath Ledger? I've heard they've done that before with people that have died before their movies came out.

I believe that's what they did with The Crow when Brandon Lee died.

Poor Heath...

It'll be released as scheduled.

The difference with Brandon Lee was that Lee was killed before The Crow had finished shooting.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I was thinking they'll release it as planned but maybe put a "in memory of Heath Ledger" thing at the end which would be a nice addition.

That would be nice, indeed.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I wasn't going to see this. I'm not a huge fan of Batman films (although I did see the last one). But I think I will see it at some point now. I want to see his last film. It is so sad that he will never be in another film again.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I'm very excited to see this film. I watched Batman Begins the other night and had forgotten how much I loved it!
Christian Bale is the best Batman ever. I grew up with Batman. I watched the tv show and all the movies, and I really think they finally got it right with Christian.

Heath Ledger was an odd choice for me at first, but after seeing some pictures of him as the Joker I'm really excited. His performance is going to be really good I think. It's going to be a completely different Joker than we've seen before.
He put so much effort and work into the role, and I know he did it justice.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight trainers IMO are really awful. The only good bits for me are bits with The Joker (I had my doubts but it looks like Heath Ledger really pulled it off great!)... the rest is just cliche, normal batman. I guess The Joker is a breath of fresh air.

I think it would be defeating the point if Batman wasn't cliche. I mean, he is a "super hero"/comic icon. It wouldn't make sense to change him. The villains, yes, but not Batman.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

Before Ledgers' death, Jack Nickolson said he would have liked to play the role of the Joker again.
Wonder what he's saying now?

Jack Nicholson said "I warned him" when he was asked about Heath´s death.
There´s the video about that, by the way.
But everybody know this, for sure it´s already discussed in the topic about Ledger´s death XD

To be honest, the most interesting thing for me to watch The Dark Night was Heath´s performance of The Joker.
I am not a fan of this new Batman movies, I was a fan, though, in the 90s, of Batman movies. But Hetah as The Joker really looks cool and I like that.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

I just searched on You Tube... theres one full trailer I think and three teasers.. that I found anyway.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaIR9dAZRR0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgOi9sXSY6I

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWw0ov-cAUg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJWfb...eature=related

I understand that Batman has to be consistent and cliche but it is a little tiresome watching him pull the same expression, same tone, same everything. Admittedly I am more a fan of the old movies/tv show and the comics but I honestly thing that Ledger will outshine Bale in this movie by far. The Joker is such a great character where as Batman, while being important isn't nearly as interesting.

Thanks for the links! Are they all from the studio or are some of them fan made? It seemed the longer one was legit while the others were put together by fans.

Re: Batman 2: The Dark Knight

A thing that bothers me from what I've seen is that the Joker's face looks like make-up whereas the proper comic book Joker's face looks like that without make-up.

The villains are always more interesting *nods*.

@Wab: I actually really like this new look they gave the Joker. It's very edgy and a heck of a lot more intense and scary. I think it fits the character better.

Cant say I know... I think the Alfred VO one might be fan-made but not sure about the others...

I like the new look of the Joker too. I liked him in the comics but for the movie I don't think it would be as effective using that make-up style. I know it sort of worked for Jack Nicholson but I prefer this new approach.
