Twilight - The Movie

I really want to talk about casting (who we wish they would/ would have cast) and about the plot (what are they cutting?)

So far Bella has been cast as Kristen Stewart (I think she can pull it off!)

Edward is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory.

So far they haven’t cast anyone else… I think that Sara Paxton would be a cute Rosalie
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...l_/sari4ka.jpg
but Olivia Wilde is more Rosalie-ish
http://www.bartcop.com/olivia-wilde-skin.jpg

Famke Janssen would be a good Victoria! http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/Images/...x/xmen3/12.jpg

I think that Stephenie Meyer’s pick for Carlise (Charlie Hunnam) could work!
http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/img/hunnam1.jpg

I also liker her pick for James!!! Cillian Murphy!
http://www.thecinemasource.com/movie...phy_01_300.jpg

I lover Stephenie’s pick for Jacob Black! Steven Strait (he might be too old for Jake though)
http://www.moviesonline.ca/celebrity...ven-Strait.jpg

She also mentioned Tyler Posey I guess he’d be OK for the younger Jacob, but Steven Strait looks more dangerous (he’s supposed to in New Moon)
http://www.tylergposey.com/photos/Ty...2007%20032.jpg

Ok, I’m done…What do you guys think? I really want to see other character ideas!!!

I hadn't realized Alice had come to stand behind me again. "And you ducked your head, like a good southern gentleman, and said, 'i'm sorry, ma'am.'" Alice laughed at the memory.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

ROBERT PATTISON IS EDWARD!!!!!!The pain of knowing that deserves three upset smileys. he's just not an edward, I saw some stuff about him on youtube, and I don't think he looks dangerous, or inhumanly beautiful.

I do like Kristen Stewart though. I think she's too pretty for Bella, but she can pull it off.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I've still got about 100 pages of Twilight to finish, but Robert Pattison as Edward just doesn't seem quite right. He's just completely different from the Edward I have in my head, but I'm sure with a bit of make up he could look the part. He's a good actor and I think he'll be able to pull it off

Kristen Stewart is a great casting choice, I think. She's got the right look for Bella and looks almost identical to the Bella I imagined. But I've never seen her act before (well I don't think I have anyway) so I can't really comment on her acting ability

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I didn't even know they were making a movie!!!! This is great! Does anyone know when the possible release date is? I know it's extremely premature, but just a ballpark? I'm not sure about Pattison being Edward. I pictured Edward entirely different; I even pictured Bella entirely different. Her pick for Jacob Black is great! I think he could pull it off.

No, he's not my perfect Edward i totally think Kristen Stewart can pull off bella though!!! I've been photoshopping a few pics and i think they can pull off edward!...I still wish they'd picked someone else though!
Who do you guys think should play Rosalie?? Or Alice?

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I'm sort of on the fence about Robert Pattinson playing Edward, too. I can sort of see it, but I think that maybe someone else might have been better. It will be interesting to hear him talk with an American accent, too. We'll just have to see how it goes. I'm one of those people that loves the movie version of books no matter what, though.

Anyway, here's a great Twilight youtube video, using the confirmed cas,t and people she wishes were the cast. I tihnk she did a wonderful job with it.

Re: Twilight

I love the books but I am keeping my expectations low for the movie. I think it will be really tough portraying the characters on screen, especially since a lot happens in their minds! Voice-overs get old quick, IMO. But I'm hoping it does justice to the series really.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I was surprised when I found out Robert P. is playing Edward (totally different from how I pictured him) but I hope he'll be able to pull it off. He was excellent in GoF IMO so here's hoping...

Ok so i really like the video, I think Kristen Stewart is a better pick for Bella than her's was. (Sorry Stephenie!!!) but seeing those two together was helpful!!! I totally think they can pull it off!!!!! Ok, so he's not my Edward, but that would be hard to cast everybody's Edward! I think they'll manage!
I LOVE her pick for Jacob, he's older (New Moon) version of Jacob, but i think that he'd be great!...I also think James and Victoria are picked well!(Stehpenie's picks, I've got those two above)

Um Yea! I def second the *spoiler warning* idea! we don't want to ruin it for anybody!!! It's such a great thing to find such a good series after our Harry Potter loss! haha, we've still got two movies tho! Or maybe like, highlight them ??

Yeah, you can wrap spoiler tags around things,
Spoiler: show
like this,
if you don't want people to see. Just highlight it to read it.

Yeah, seeing them together really helped me, too. I wasn't so sure about them, but while they still may not be my top picks, I think they'll work well together, and I certainly think they look good together!! And I agree, who she picked for Jacob would have been perfect, but I think he's too old now. He'd be the right age probably for Eclipse, and maybe New Moon, but not Twilight anymore. Oh well, I'm sure they'll find someone else good, or just use him anyway!

Re: Twilight - The Movie

haha...i'm for the use anyways...the power of hollywood make-up and effects! they could make his face look rounder (more boy-ish) haha...i just like him as Jacob, that's actually exactly how i pictured Jake in New Moon!

I may be one of the few who thinks this but I think Robert P is the perfect choice for Edward. He is very very good looking... No one can be as good looking as Edward but this guy looks pretty darn good...

I second that; Robert P was one of the people I originally thought would make a good Edward.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I'm pretty sure it's just the one book. I know in like, Series of Unfortunate Events, they combined the first three into one movie, but those were much easier to condense down, with less plot details. These I think it would be a really bad idea to do something like that.

I agree. If they condense the three books into one film I think it'll be a bad idea. I'd much rather see the focus on just Twilight to keep in the extra details and the main focus on that plotline, otherwise it could get a bit confusing and be too packed full of plots. And personally, I just don't like it when they merge books to make one film.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

Yeah, there's just way too much happening in one book to have it be all one movie. It would have to be like, 5 hours long. By the time it were half way through, people who hadn't read the book would be so confused, and probably some who had would be, too! But I agree, trying to focus on all the plots in all the books at once would just ruin it.

I don't have a problem with Robert Pattison at all. He isn't like the Edward in my mind, but there's no denying he's pretty good looking.

Honestly, I don't get what the big deal is. So Robert doesn't look like a vampire - big deal. Is there a single actor that will satisfy everyone's image of Edward? No, of course not.

I have no problem with Robert as Edward. Sure, he doesn't look like the Edward in my imagination, but that doesn't bother me. I care more about if he's going to act well in the role as Edward. For instance, Evanna Lynch doesn't look anything like the Luna in my mind. But I think Evanna acted great as Luna!

So, really, when it comes down to it, people will focus more on Robert's acting than how he looks like. And if he acts well, then that's perfectly fine with me.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I like Kristen Stewart as an actress and I was thrilled to hear that she was playing Bella. She looks like my pictured Bella.

As for Robert Pattinson, he doesn't suit the "Edward Cullen" I had pictured in my mind, but I don't have anything against him playing Edward. All I hope is that he plays Edward well and doesn't ruin the character, which he probably won't. I'll have to adjust a little to his appearance (which isn't "Edward-like" in my opinion) but other than that, he's fine.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

There's no news about the other cast yet. It's been fun looking at actors and actresses and models to pick my own though. I have a friend who'll look at the people in the mall she works at and see if they would fit any of the parts. At this point for me, I'm most anxious to see who they cast as Alice and Rosalie. They are the most fleshed out and specific of the characters. Jasper and Carlisle can be just about any good looking tall blonde. Emmett will just need to be a body builder type with black hair. I can't see them really trying to get the others like Mike, Jessica or Charlie that perfect from the book versions. So long as they're in the movie is really all it matters.
