Favourite bands/artists: In alphabetical order : Aerosmith (some), The Beatles, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Daughtry, David Cook, some Elvis, Five for Fighting, Fleetwood Mac, the Fray, Goo Goo Dolls, Hans Zimmer, John Mayer, John Mellencamp, Keane, The Killers (attribute this to my sister), Klaus Badelt, KT Tunstall, Live, Matchbox Twenty, Melissa Etheridge, Nickelback, Pat Benatar, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rob Thomas, Santana, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, U2, and lots of other random people that I only have one or two songs from. These are only the ones that I own multiple songs from, doesn't mean that I don't like the other single songs as much as or better than these. I also follow American Idol, so I didn't list people from there either.
Favourite albums: Hmmm...there are hardly any albums where I like every single song...I like the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks, all three...Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi), Queen: Greatest Hits...even those I don't own everything on. I just buy what I feel like on iTunes, rarely the whole entire album.
Favourite songs: They change all the time...right now I like "Into the Night" by Santana/Chad Kroeger, but it's not my favorite song ever or anything. I think there's too many to list.
Favourite live act: I've never seen one. Does American Idol on TV count?

The musician/s who are the most important to you: Dunno.
If you could see any band/musician live, regardless of money, time, space, monkeys etc, who would it be? I don't really know...right now I'd like to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra though, since its the holiday season...
The one band that you'd love to see split up? Oh, I don't know...maybe the Pussycat Dolls or something?
One song that everybody should hear: Bohemian Rhapsody! I can't believe I never heard it in its entirety until 8th grade. On American Idol at that. The original is definitely better though.

The one band that you'd love to see split up?Nickelback, can't stand them. I can tolerate most music, just not them or the 5 million other bands that sound EXACTLY like them (Theory of a Dead Man, etc). As an Albertan, I truly apologise for unleashing this plague upon the world.

Favourite bands/artists:Anything, really, except rap and hip-hop. I really like rock/alternative stuff like Hedley, Paramore, Skillet, etc. I also like Country too like Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, etc. The rule about country is not too twangy and not too cheesy (like the songs all about dogs dying and cars breaking down).
Favourite albums:Hmmm...pretty much anything goes. Depends on my mood.
Favourite songs:Oooh, far too many to even begin naming them.
Favourite live act:Sadly, I haven't seen any of them live. It's ok tho, I prefer it that way.

The musician/s who are the most important to you:Ummm...gosh, I don't know.
If you could see any band/musician live, regardless of money, time, space, monkeys etc, who would it be? Ooooh, Paramore, Skillet, and Rascal Flatts
The one band that you'd love to see split up?The Pussycat Dolls? They are just...ugh, no. How anyone listens to them, I'll never know. They're horrible in my opinion!
One song that everybody should hear:No idea. They're all so good!

Ok, I just have to have a musical-themed rant real quick:

I have this problem where I'll find a band I really love and listen to all the time, that aren't very well known. And then, randomly they're huge all of a sudden and being played nonstop over every radio station and everyone and their dog is listening to it, and then I get sick of it. And I hate it because people who I make listen to something will say they hate it, but after it comes on the radio (and therefore has been declared "cool") they're all, "OMG, I love this band!" and become huge groupies, when before they had hated it. I don't like people like that...I find them fake.

I had a friend who was really into Panic! At The Disco (before they were huge) and listened to them constantly. And we were together on a trip and she tried to make everyone listen to them and like 15 out of the 18 people there said they hated it. Hated the sound, hated the lyrics, hated everything about the band. And then like 2 months later when they're songs started being played on the radio for the first time, nearly all 15 people were suddenly huge fans of the band. I hate that! And it happens to me all the time.

So then I tend to go for less and less heard of bands, so that I can be listening to something different. Awhile back it was Paramore and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. And now they're both huge and everyone listens to them on the radio and I find myself getting tired of them and searching for new stuff.

Does anyone else have this problem or am I acting dumb? It seems weird, but I hate it when it happens!

Re: Introduce Yourself: Music Taste.

i have that problem, sort of. i don't start to hate them, though. good music is good music, no matter how popular it is. i listen to music that was popular in the sixties and seventies, but i also listen to music that's popular now, and some music that's not as popular as well. what everyone else likes really shouldn't determine whether or not you like something.
