Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

Aspiring authors on CoS? Are you published? This can be any form of work that is published somewhere, whether in print or on a website somewhere. If you are, and you want to reveal your talents for the rest of the world to see, please do so in this thread.

You may link your website, publisher and anywhere people can purchase your work if it's available.

Re: Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

I wish i was published! i really want to get my book published when its complete! but the closest i've ever gotten to being published was when my Christmas poem that i wrote at school in grade 2, got put in my town's paper. it was six lines and rhymed; but i don't know if that really counts.

I had an essay (a really bad essay) published in a book that compiled essays from fans around the world, which was brought out by Wizarding World Press in 2004, after MuggleNet and CoS ran a contest for entries. Mine may have sucked, but the rest were seriously amazing.
There's an Amazon page for it, here.

I really wish I was, but I can never finish writing one book. I always start another and another and another and so on.

Re: Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

I've got a few poems published in those cheesy interent scam sites. They were published in a book too but then again, those sites take everything that's got even a speck of decency and put them in a book anyway so I don't concider it that great of an accomplishment. I plan on getting published eventually, just because it's on my shoulders to make money to take care of my parents or they'll work themselves to the grave. I'm an okay writer but it's something I know I've just got to do.

Does anyone know what the process is like to get published? How much does it cost?

Re: Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

If the publisher is legit it won't cost you a thing.

Re: Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

Oooh, that's what I was hoping for! Thank you. I love writing, I really have a passion for it and I want to get published but not for myself. I'm have no desire to be famous, in fact the very idea makes me nervous, I hate attention and I hate being in any sort of spotlight, good or bad. I just want to be able to be proud of myself, you know? And I want to be able to set up a legacy that I can use to help the world. I don't want to be rich, in fact for the longest time I was decided that I was going to be poor no matter what happened to me, but the world around me has changed my mind. Money is, unfortunately, the key to life physically. People are too dependent on it now to buy food, clothes, shelter, etc. and if I can somehow earn enough to do something big then I'm going to work at it and I'm going to do it.

If you ever see a book someday by someon like me, pray it's saved a life. Life is more important than the material world. Words are my link to life.

Re: Are you published? (Writer's Corner)

Well, if by published, this thread means: 'Getting your name in print'
Then yeah, I've been getting my name published for more then a year now. And in the place that I'm getting printed, well, it now has 5 writers, and more then 70 readers. It's called The Fictional Reporter(It's the thing that I get printed in.) Anyway, yeah, it's pretty awesome to get E-mails from readers; good, and bad.

In that case I suppose I'm published, too.

My book finally got published!

So, I've been writing a book since right after I read Harry Potter almost ten years ago now. I finished it about six months ago and finally got a literary agent about two months ago. A friend of mine introduced me to a self-publishing website and my agent gave me the go-ahead, telling me it was a really good idea to go for it! So, do me a favor and take a look at it! Tell me what you think! And if you're really feeling froggy, pick up a copy! I'm horribly excited, so please, please, check it out! It's expensive in hardback, but it's also available in paperback and in digital copy, just use the lulu.com search engine to find the paperback. Thanks guys!

You can find it at lulu.com!
