I agree with you. (Though, in this case Meyer should've had Maggie die instead ).

I'm pretty sure this is the kind of end Meyer would bring -the souls and humans living together in peace. Which would result in building a non-violent and soul-like generation of humans... .

We kind of already see that happening when Wanderer is out on the raid, and they see the human child with the other parasites.

Re: The Host

Wow, I hadn't noticed during my first reading of this book, how many times Meyer uses the word "chagrin". It makes an appearance through practically every chapter. I never thought it possible to use one word that way. I also noticed a lot of fragments instead of incomplete sentences, and here I was thinking that Myer had improved in some way. How wrong I was. Her attempt at similes are pitiful in my opinion.

You're right. In that case, I'm totally clueless what any sequel might contain.

What's that?

A fragment in the hands of a good writer can be quite effective. But since we're talking about Meyer here . . .
I wish you would post some of the particularly pitiful similes. I could use a laugh.

Yeah, myer doesn't use this technique very well like everything else that's she's done. I don't know whether I'm tempted to go anywhere near The Host for the next decade or so, so I'm not too sure about those similies.

Ah, okay. I can totally understand that.

Re: The Host

I just finished this book a couple days ago after picking it up from my library (which I was lucky to see it on the shelf when I did ). I had been wanting to read this book for a while.

I really liked Wanda. I liked Ian a lot better than Jared. It took me a few chapters to get into it, but when I did, I loved it. Great characters, nice storyline, and a very nice ending that could set up a sequel.

One little complaint though: Stephenie's use of her favorite word "chagrin"! I hoped she wouldn't use it in this book

Re: The Host

I finished The Host about 2 months ago. It's my fav. Even a bit better than Harry Potter.

I heard that they were going to start filming it early 2011! I think the guy that played Emmett in Twilight should play Jared, Ian, or maybe even Kyle!
