Hey, Goddess Clio.

I've been following along too, and I'm anxiously awaiting 10#15. It's all I've got right now, because I recently moved and I can't find my X-Files DVDs in the maze of boxes that is my second floor.

I only ever had the show on VHS and my mom sold them all at a garage sale when I moved away for college.

I've been doing another series rewatch with a friend in another forum; he mentioned that he's never watched the show and started because I had XFs in my signature there. We can still pull in the newbies.

Disclaimer: from thetvmouse.com

They're up to part 11 of it so far (around season 6).

Wow, this is totally awesome! This had me noticing details I missed, even after having seen these episodes more than once. Also, the writing in this is priceless! My favorite line: "That pint of ice cream in the freezer? It’s got bees where the cookie dough should be."

More please! Hopefully volume 12 will be out soon.

Volume 12 is out! It's really good so far.

Just got the new issue of IDW X-Files season 10 comics.

Spoiler: show
They actually went there...

They had to do something about abortion... I really hope they don't get preachy.

The writing is ok this time, will have to do a re read to get a more in-depth idea though. Was on the road today, so I didn't get to read it as thoroughly as I wanted to.

Re: The X-Files

Holy cow! The XF might be coming back! Just heard the news via Entertainment Weekly. Here's the link to the article.

I'm excited... hopefully it'll take place with David and Gillian. I have no interest in a new take with other actors.

A little bit from the article:

*snip*

Quote:
Fox’s new agenda is looking a lot like their old one. Confirming some prior reports, the network’s leadership says they are seriously chasing a reboot of The X-Files and are possibly interested in bringing back Prison Break too (along with yet another edition of 24 as well — but that’s another story).

On The X-Files front, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman say they have been in talks with series creator Chris Carter about reviving the supernatural procedural, which was a major hit for the network from 1993 to 2002. The executives also revealed they hope to have original series stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles on the show.

“It’s true that we’ve had some conversations on X-Files,” Newman said. “We’re hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point.”

Walden added: “Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run of The X Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time.”
*snip*

If this does happen, I hope it's sooner rather than later.

How I feel inside right now:

Re: The X-Files

I heard about this too. I am very excited for them to reboot the series if the original actors are in it. I've really been enjoying the comic book series, so I'd really be interested in seeing how they handle restarting the series.

I have been too and tbh, I think (at least for the most part) it's been better than what Chris has been doing writing wise. It's not perfect, but it's ok.

I hope that they handle it well, that's one thing I'm worried about. No back pedaling, Chris . And no games and/or bees.

David is on board for a limited run .

Source: usatoday.com

Just came across an article from Vanity Fair about the reboot -- slight caution for language -- Oh Scully . Here it is.

Source: vanityfair.com

In the recent Nerdist podcast, she said that she'd be overjoyed to play Scully again. So we have both Moose and Squirrel on board. Really hoping this works out.

I hope that IMDB isn't jumping the gun: Untitled X-Files Reboot

They mentioned 2016.

Re: The X-Files

More possible /facepalm brought to us via CC and FOX:

Quote:
That in and of itself may prove to be problematic and contrary to some reports this revival is not a done deal. Fox insiders are reluctant to say much of anything on the record, but I hear that Walden & Newman’s comments that talks are at an “early stage” may have been something of an understatement.

Discussions between Chris Carter’s camp and Fox have been taking place, off and on, over the past few months but aren’t remotely close to closing, with the two “far apart” on an agreement. That said, both sides are said to be optimistic about reaching a deal in the coming weeks/months.
Source: http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2015/01/x-fi...ng-heres-know/

What in the world could they be SO far apart on that it's taken so long? More bull on both sides. And given certain things, I'm not sure if things will come to fruition. -_- They figure it'll be by 2017. And by then my give a dang will just about be run out.

Oh, I don't know if time delay is a problem. Given the fact that we often wait a year or two for some productions' continuing episodes (mostly from the BBC) if they think it will be actually on the air by 2017, that's not unreasonable. Sherlock, for example, averages about 2 years apart. I'd be willing to wait to have a proper revival for one season on the colonization theme. And remember there were 3 years between GOF and OOPT, and 2 years between HBP and DH -- although we had COS to theorize what would happen in the next book while we waited. Maybe we need an X-Files thread discussing what direction the colonization will take when the new series airs in 2017.....

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff...

....I miss David Tennant....

Good point.

But it's been 6-7 (and by 2017 it'll be around 9) years (boy does time fly ) since the last XF movie, so that's where time kind of figures in. 6 years isn't too bad, since that was the time between the last XF episode to the new movie... but the wait is getting rather old.

I understand in regards to Sherlock and the others... but those were pretty short spans of time by comparison.

Maybe. Or I can re-purpose this one?

Edit: Just edited the first post.

Look at it this way, 2015 is already well under way. I don't think the time lag is an issue, as original viewers would love to see closure for the series in a proper fashion, and I think there are a lot of new viewers who haven't waited as long as we have so they'll still be interested. It could be that Fox is finally seeing how big a series revival could be.

Good point. Been trying to see it in that way. But... It's not the easiest sometimes . Any new fans aside.

It would be great to see some sort of closure though.

I'd watch a reboot with the original actors! Not sure if they recast.
