Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

I only came up with four last time, but my favorite books list changed!

1. Harry Potter
2. The Gemma Doyle trilogy
3. His Dark Materials
4. The Inheritance Cycle
5. Night
6. The Kite Runner
7. A Thousand Splendid Suns
8. The Jessica Darling Series

I've read a lot of books, but I'm too picky to come down to ten of my favorite books.

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

!.The Harry Potter Series , of course , no surprise there.
2.The count of Montecristo, by Alexander Dumas.
3.The Historian , by Elizabeth Kostova
4.The Chronicles of Narnia.
5.The five People you meet in Heaven.

And I can´t think of others that would fit in this category.

II should read this one. I saw the movie and I loved it. Have you seen the movie? If so, do you think it follows the book pretty well? Which did you like better?

Uh...sorry if it seems like I am interrogating you.

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

I definitly liked the book better. In the book, it's easy to imagine what's happening in your head, and I thoguht the movie had different interpretations than I did, so...

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

In no particular order:

1. Jane Eyre
2. Gone With The Wind
3. Harry Potter Series
4. LOTR series
5. Anne of Green Gables (series)
6. Middlemarch
7. To Kill A Mockingbird
8. Holes
9. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (first book's the best)
10. A Song of Ice and Fire series

I guess it's kind of cheating for me to have so many series in there.

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

In no particular order...
1. HP series
2. To Kill a Mockingbird
3. Artemis Fowl and The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer
4. Eragon/Eldest
5. Inkheart/Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke
6. Night of the Twisters--not something I would read now, but I read that many times when I was little.
7. The Book Thief
8. Good Night, Uncle Tom
9. A Series of Unfortunate Events
10. Life As We Knew It/The Dead and the Gone

I'm sure this list will change as I get older, but I am positive that at least HP and TKaM (and maybe The Book Thief) will remain on the list forevermore. :P

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

I'm not going to put HP in the list because (1) I'm here, (2) It's in a realm all of it's own, haha. It's too special to be on my favourite books list.

My ten favourite books in alphabetical order:
Tuesdays With Morrie - Mitch Albom
Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly
Hey Nostradamus! - Douglas Coupland
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
Le Petit Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Les Jeux Sont Faits - Jean-Paul Sartre
Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolkien

It was so hard to pick just ten books. Unbelievably hard...

Re: Top 10 Fav Fiction Books

I don't really have a Top 10, I do however have a Top 5. (In no particular order)

Top 5 Favorite Books of All Time:
- Chronicles of Narnia Series
- Harry Potter Series
- Watership Down
- My Side of the Mountain
- Skinny Legs and All

I just finished Skinny Legs and All recently and I must say that seeing the writing style of Tom Robbins has definitely helped me improve upon my own. He is ballsy and goes places where I haven't seen other writers go.
