Re: Have you ever cried while reading a book
Yes! For "Wuthering Heights" ...
Then for "Jane Eyre", but not like for "Wuthering Heights". And for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", for Sirius’s death (but after reading Deathly Hallows I have no cried…anymore). And in DH, when I thought that Harry would die and then I cried of happiness when he survived. Last edited by Verena; July 26th, 2012 at 4:46 pm. |

Re: Have you ever cried while reading a book
I have cried about a book just once.. About a book from which I absolutely had not expected it. "Lucas" by Kevin Brooks. We had to read it for school, and everybody else hated it, but I could empathize sooo good with the main character, and the book didn't end too happy for her, so felt like her and that's the only time I have ever cried about a book.

Re: Have you ever cried while reading a book
Have I ever cried while reading a book? Many, many times.....
HP: OotP when Sirius dies. HBP when Dumbledore dies. DH on several occasions - mostly the deaths of Dobby and from the scene where Snape dies until Harry is at King's Cross. Outside HP: Wuthering Heights at various points. Jane Eyre when Jane leaves Thornfield and when she returns. Captain Corelli's Mandolin when Corelli returns. War and Peace when Pierre goes to see Natasha after her aborted elopement and when Andrei Bolkonski dies. South Riding when Carney dies. The Man in the Iron Mask when D'Artagnan dies. Birdsong at various points. The Pursuit of Love when Linda dies. And those are only the ones I can think of at present........ |
