Don't concentrate.

Yeah, I’ve been there for about half my life now and it’s still infuriating.

Ugh.

So have any of us had productive writing days?

Oh, I’m too embarrassed to think about my old stuff…

But I haven’t written hardly anything today. I’m still not interested in anything but Jaden and Clariette, who don’t really matter all that much yet!

Yes, I have CRS too!

I have issues reading my own handwriting sometimes too, which actually causes me great amusement when I mis-read words!

I know that feeling! A lot of my really old stuff has long been thrown out, but I still have some and I do cringe when I read it!

And my novel may actually get written if I sat down and concentrated on it for once. I have too much time on my hands.
Oh, can I relate to that. I lately started writing a short story down in a notebook, and I've been amazed at how much more I actually get done in a sitting (though it's still less than I get in a productive stint at the computer, considering how much faster I type than write).

Re: Any writers trying to get published? v.5

I'm only 16 but have known for some time now that I want a career in creative writing. I have written some fanfics in the past and am always thinking up stories. Whenever I think of a good one I write it down, or at least start to. I have a very vivid imagination and if I read a book or watch a film or TV program its always running through my head what could happen next. I'm currently writing a story (that so far has no title) about a young girl in the 18th century who is taken to bath to find a husband and falls in love with a young sailor. However her mum wont allow her marriage to him andarranges her a wedding with his captain. After the wedding she is on the boat with her new husband and the sailor she loves when the ship is invaded by pirates, she and the sailor choose to join the pirates, leaving the captain and everyone else on the ship behind. And .... thats as far as I've planned. I havent done much on it so far as i have exams to worry about but plan to continue it when they end.
Oh and I really cant stand girlie teenage stories about the difficulties of life such as thos Louise Rennison books. They main character is always self centered and arrogant.
(I love pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre)

Re: Any writers trying to get published? v.5

I've been writing little stories ever since I can remember and now I'm writing really long fantasy stories and my LA teacher thinks I should publish. I'm trying, but I will probably be depressed if I get rejected so I haven't exactly gone for it yet. I want to publish fantasy for young adults with Bloomsbury though.
And I write fan fiction...hint hint, you might read it....
But I write whenever I can. But since I hate my handwriting I type it all up. I have about 3 stories going and I am almost done with one of them. It's about 189 pages, but I plan on making them bigger. (I'm a fast typist!) It took me about a half a year to do all that story. I just need a really strong conclusion....
But my other stories are just in the pages of about 60. I haven't really been working on them.

Get an agent. Bloomsbury no longer accept unsolicited MSS for their kids/YA imprint.

Well, kind-of, but not really. A few nights ago, I wrote almost two pages (which was actually closer to one because I have really big handwriting) but it really wasn't productive. But it did get me closer to what is going to happen next.

Productive writing day? No. I was so blocked, my novel didn't stand a chance and I palmed off my fanfic chapter on my friend so she could finish it for me!

Re: Any writers trying to get published? v.5

Hey guys! OK, my idea book has been stolen, so now my deadline has to come sooner cause I'm too worried of what can be stolen! So hopefully it will come out soon! Oh, and I read in v. 4 that someone was worried about their first book being chopped full and their second flat? Well, I do things the long way and come out with a title name, chapter titles, and what the chapters are about first. So, that leads up to a whole bunch of sumeries! Only, when I get down to writing, its then do I worry about editing things around to change things up a bit.

Argh. my neighbour told me that Bloomsbury was good for publishing. As if she knew. Well, I'll try to get an agent when I complete, edit, and revise my story. UGH! I'm mad. I just called me neighbour and I'm not happy with her.

Yup! On my mum's birthday I wrote a nice poem for her and then printed it and decided to write some of my fantasy novel and I wrote about 15 pages.
And I'm done with it now! I'm working on another one mostly because revising and editing bore my half to death and my grammar is not what it was in 5th grade...for some reason. And because my sister'll probably edit it for me. But I'll revise at least. Someday...

I haven't been around for forever...
Anyway, yeah! Well, not days. That starts tomorrow (please, please). I just wrote about two and a half pages for this one story... sadly, I don't know if I'm ever going to get back to that story. I need to write my main one, which has been sitting gathering dust for a while (poor baby...).
One great thing is that I went on a trip to England (I live in the States), and traveling around and just being in a different environment gave me a lot of nice ideas for my story.

Well, I'll come back later once I've written something (um, I hope I'm here real soon...).

I've been so stuck lately!!! It's awful. But I just watched Dead Poets Society, so of course, because I'm me and I gain my inspiration from great films, I had to write something, and finally I wrote something decent this week so... I'm happy!

Major rewrite. Again. And I finally have a flaw for Robyn! And a somewhat plausable reason as to why the finale would happen at the school! And a reason as to why the baddies attack the school in the first place!

Now I just have to write from a girl's first person perspective. And do some research.
