I LOVED Daddy Gibbs! And yes, I thought that Tony was a little mean.

Re: N C I S

Tough to get a read on "loss breeds personal growth" DiNozzo. I...look. I liked that they introduced an attractive polar opposite to M. Allison Hart. I enjoyed the actress' chemistry with Harmon. She reminds me quite a bit of Anne Marie Johnson (who was Congresswoman Bobbi Latham on JAG and the Col. from the investigation on Requiem). I found that distracting. Still, an interesting guest turn. Saw a preview of their blonde, NSA, "zany" Zivette. I'm on the fence at the moment.

When I saw that preview I was calling it that she would be the replacement.

Spoiler: show
After watching it I feel like I called it, but I don't know how I feel about her. She is quirky and the type of quirky that can easily be promoted and can bode well for the series but personally I am unsure. She has a ring but dodged the question of actually being married. While I feel using Ziva's replacement as a love interest for now more mature Tony is a little cliche I am unsure if she really is married or not. Time will tell I guess, but I feel we will certainly be seeing more of her.

Me too. Hopefully they won't do the 'replacement love interest' thing. It would be cheap in my opinion, after all of that buildup between Tony and Ziva (8 years worth).

I actually liked her. I was more annoyed by the bogus Boren tragic backstory thing.

I think I would like her better if she wasn't coming from the NSA. I don't care how nice or brilliant she is, the fact that she was voluntarily working for the NSA, and wasn't engaged in any whistleblower activity, is a serious deal-breaker for me. If they're going to be pro-NSA, I may have to stop watching the show.

It's fiction, though, so why let a small part of the organization's issues in real life preclude you from watching a fictional program you enjoy?

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff...

Fiction doesn't come out of nowhere, and if its authors are going to be pushing things I don't agree with, the stories will no longer be enjoyable to me.

Re: N C I S

I haven't been able to catch up with the episodes. I'm not as excited to watch now that Ziva is gone, I guess. It seems now that I am not going to catch up before CoS closes, and that makes me sad. It's been fun reading you all's comments, and it has been nice sharing my thoughts with people who enjoy the shows I like. I guess I'll need to find somewhere else to read up on and sporadically post on my favorite shows. My best wishes to all of you, and happy show watching!

Re: N C I S

I've been keeping up with the new episodes but I still miss Ziva. Her presence was a big one in the show and now it'll take some time to get used to the new set up. Hope it does well . Going to miss posting here on the boards. I enjoy reading everyone's posts about NCIS and the discussion in thread.

Yeah, I'm going to miss these boards a lot. Ziva's presence is a huge one. It's a much tougher adjustment than from Kate to Ziva. Of course, I didn't really care for Kate, and Sasha Alexander seems to have the role she was born to play on Rizzoli & Isles.

I never got a chance to be on the forums as much as I would have liked. Life just kept on getting in the way. Definitely. That new person has huge shoes to fill, no doubt about that.

I like Bishop. She's different enough that she adds her own. She's also quirky.

Yea she's ok enough. Guess I'll get used to her with time. Any guesses as to how the rest of the season will go?

Re: N C I S

RIP Ralph Waite, who played Jackson Gibbs so well on this series.

He was apparently best known as the patriarch of The Waltons, but he'd been busy in recent years with multiple appearances on NCIS as Jackson Gibbs and a few appearances on Bones as Hank "Poppy" Booth.

Re: N C I S

I'd not heard that he died. I wonder if they'll do a Gibbs going home to Daddy Gibbs' funeral.

Yep. RIP sir . He'll be missed on both shows.

@ baseballblondie: Maybe. It would only make sense to do so. I wonder how it'll affect Gibbs...

Looking forward to more new episodes of NCIS. Ralph Waite will be missed as Jackson Gibbs though . He certainly was one heck of a presence.

Just saw tonight's episode in honor of Gibbs' father . So sad. He'll be missed. Such a good episode.
