Either the final battle scene, or the scene in the forest when Harry is surrounded by his parents, Sirius and Lupin... one of my favourite scenes in the whole book! They had better not cut it! Although I have a feeling they will because they'll have to pay the actors a big load of money and they're only going to be in it for one short scene!

Plus Alan Rickman will finally be given a real opportunity to show why he's one of the most talented actors out there.
He is, he's brilliant. And he will knock that death scene out of the park.

The only problem, though, is that the real heavy-lifting acting-wise in "The Prince's Tale" will fall to another, younger actor - maybe Alec Hopkins again? - who will get the windy hilltop AND Severus in DD's office, crying over Lily's death. If they do keep those two scenes, I hope whoever plays 21-year-old Snape is up to the task.

I would not worry about this. James and Lily are replaceable (IMO anyway, we have seen so little of them that I would be happy with any dark-haired man in glasses and redhaired woman, they can be introduced earlier in the movie so we know who they are, like the photo in 12 GP) and not big names, and I would expect David Thewlis would be in the movie anyway. So it is just a matter of getting Oldman on board. If they did it for his Kingsford Charcoal moment in GoF, I am sure they will spring for him for this scene too.

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

So many candidates, can't quite make up my mind...

Seven Potters, Happy Birthday, Harry - I didn't know what to get you..., Ron's return/destroy the locket, escape from Malfoy Manor/burying Dobby, the Kiss, and most of the stuff from chapter 28 on to the end.

Personally, the scene I'd love to see make it to film is when Percy returns and is met by his family. Particularly, everything that happens in the foreground with Harry, Fleur and Remus while the Weasley's are in the background. It was entertaining enough in print, but a little awkward (the Remus part, not Percy - Percy is supposed to have it awkward). Let a good director and the three actors take hold of that scene and go beyond the text - it will be 10X better!

I think there will be so many good scenes that nobod will be able to choose:
Godrics Hollow, Rons return, Gringotts, Ron and Hermione's kiss, harry and Ginny's kiss, the final battle...basically all of them!

The scene where Ron destroys the Horcrux is going to be so cool!

There will be too many to count if they stay true to the book. But Dobbys funeral will be a very good scene if handeled correctly.

Possible Movie Scenes run through your head as you read the Final Book

A very particular one struck me. As I was reading the Pensieve chapter, I played it out in my head in the setting where Harry & Dudley had their confrontation before the Dementors came in the latest movie, HP: OotP.

I could visualize Lily and Petunia on the very same swings Harry was on. Anyone else have moments where they visualized the scenes in settings from past movies?

Like the scene where the Doe Patronus came, reminded me of the Forbidden Forest scene when all the Dementors came and attacked Harry. This time the lake wasn't as huge and it was just hella shallow. Idk i have a lot of these "Director Moments"

I think the most touching, turning point, heart-drawing moment will be when we learn about Snape's early obsession of Lily. If they do it right with the right music and etc, it'll be tear-drawing.

i hope they get the final battle right. make it really epic.

i think "the silver doe" will make a great scene. not just emotionally and stuff, but aesthetically. it's a very beautiful scene. the snow, the doe, the pool, and the quiet. and when ron destroys the horcrux, it reminds me a bit of the sword in the stone.

I'm thinking something like Bambi (Silver Doe) meets King Arthur (sword in the water)

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

If done right, it will probably be the "look...at...me" scene (I can imagine fading from Harry's face into Lily's in the first scene of the Prince's Tale) and Snape's "Always" to Dumbledore, those were the most powerful and emotional scenes in the book for me. Also, the appearance of the silver doe will probably be a beautiful scene.

I'm looking forward to everything with Snape at the end - "look..at..me" and all of his memories.

They better make the final battle absolutley AMAZING.

Also, when Harry is walking to the Forbidden Forest and he is expecting to die.. they better do that right because that will be so emotional..

I think that Nagini erupting out of Bathilda Bagshot's body has the chance of being the creepiest, most gruesome scene in a Harry Potter movie. But I think that the best one will be the escape from Gringotts.

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

I don't know about anyone else but I'm really looking forward to the kiss between Ron & Hermione! It's been a long time coming, especially with all the hints in the earlier movies and in the books, even though JKR had said that it would be Harry & Ginny, Ron & Hermione.

I just hope that they keep in the line that sparks it off, although it will be a bit random since they haven't brought SPEW into the movies. At least I can't remember SPEW being brought up in the movies!!!

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

I have a lot of scenes that I'm looking forward to (hopefully, they'll include them in the movie...if not, I'll have a cow.).
I'd LOVE to see The Seven Potters chapter. It would be amusing to see 7 Harrys. But I'd probably tear up at the part where Hedwig dies...and the Voldemort chase will be intense, as well.
I'd also like to see Godric's Hollow (I don't want them to cut out the scene where Harry tears up at his parents' graves and Hermione gives him flowers to put on them. That scene was just so emotional and sweet.) But Bathilda's Secret will be rather disturbing, but I hope they don't cut that out.
The Silver Doe should be interesting, especially seeing the Harry and Hermione figures of the Horcrux kiss, Ron's reaction to it, and the conversation exchanged between them once they are reunited.
Malfoy's Manor is a must, too.
And of course, The Prince's Tale and The Battle of Hogwarts.
But if it were up to me, I'd probably just put every chapter of the book in the movie.

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

Assuming they don't butcher anything

Most atmospheric: Bathilda Bagshot sequence
Most emotional: Ron and the horcrux
Most exciting: The Great Gringotts Robbery
Most unsettling/jarring: Xeno Lovegood's Betrayal
Most cathartic: Harry's death march
Most painful: Malfoy Manor

Re: Which Deathly Hallows scene will be the best movie scene?

I thought of another one...

I'd love to see the wedding and see Ron & Hermione dancing together! (Although i don't think they danced in the book...have to reread that part!) But I don't think that they'll show the wedding in the movie because so far Bill hasn't been in the movies...grrr!!!

Oh! And Oh! I want to see when Percy arrives at Hogwarts. That was such a funny and lighthearted moment right before everything really kicked off!
