Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

There was the whole thing about Daniel's commitments to How to Succeed in Business Without really trying. Warner Bros ended up buying out a few nights of performances so that Dan could attend the London premiere.
My guess is that the US one will be in NY too, as no other dark periods have been scheduled for the Musical. It means Dan won't have to travel, or miss more than one performance of the show.

I'm Caity, I'm from Australia and am traveling to London/New York this June/July. This means I have to go to the midnight screening in New York instead. I always dress up and have a huge party for every movie release, ever since the first film, it's usually bigger than Christmas and my Birthday combined. I plan on doing the same even if I'm by myself in an unknown city.
I was wondering if any of you know the best place in New York to go to the midnight screening, I've already started my costume, complete with pockets for tissues to wipe away the river of tears I will be crying, hehe.
I would love to hear from any of you New Yorkians!

Melbourne Muggles are already planning their midnight screening so I thought I'd try and book my ticket for the NY one quickly.
If anyone could give me any tips about the best cinemas, or groups that organise them, I'd be forever grateful and will share my redvines and Potter Puppet Pals Cupcakes with you at the screening. hehe.

I'm also going to be in London for the premiere, so if anyone knows how long people usually line up for before the event, that'd be awesome to know too so I can plan my holiday around that!

I'm new to this forum, but have been a Harry Potter fanatic since 1998 when I first read the books in Grade 1.
There's an AMC theater in Times Square (42nd street?) that has a lot of screens so that would probably be your best bet, although given that it's NYC it'll sell out quickly. You could try fandango.com to look for theaters in the Manhattan area so you know your options; the subway is so easy to use, it doesn't really matter how far away the theater is from where you're staying.

I'm not sure how you could find a group to go with - I suppose you could contact the Harry Potter Alliance NYC chapter and ask if they're organizing anything? If not, I'm sure the DH page on facebook has people asking about midnight screenings. Good luck and let me know if you have more questions!

Deathly Hallows Part 2 Ticket Sales

My friend and I are huge HP fans and are travelling to London from New Zealand for the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Premier, to see the red carpet etc. We are also wanting to get tickets for one of the first screenings on the 15th, preferably at BFI Imax, does anyone know when tickets go on sale for any London cinema screening DH part 2? Thanks

Deathly Hallows Part 2 London Premiere

Hi There. My friend and I are huge HP fans and are travelling to London from New Zealand for the premiere. Having never been to one of these events before I was hoping someone could fill me in on how everything works. I know the red carpet is taking place at Trafalgar square on July 7, but can anyone go to watch the red carpet? Is there an area for fans to stand? How many hours/days in advance should we get there to ensure a good spot?
Also, with it being the last in the series, does anyone know of any HP related events happening in London around the time of the release?
Thanks

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

what date exactly is the New York premiere? I might be going this summer and it would be just amazing to catch a premiere. I would literally die of excitement though. hahaha

The official US premiere? That hasn't been announced yet as far as I know.

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

They should have a premiere in Los Angeles. Hollywood is a great place, especially because Dan, Rupert, and Emma's hand prints and signatures are there.

They haven't been to Cali since OoTF.

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

^ I wish I would have been part of the HP fandom earlier so I could have went to more premieres. i bet it will be ridiculously crowded that day. It's supposed to be on Trafalgar Square, idk if they ever held a premiere there before but I love that place. you would probably have to get there super early to get a spot right up front which I won't be able to manage. I am lucky if I even get off work to go to London...

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

I can't go to the London premiere (oh how I wish...) and I certainly can't go to the one in the US...

Buuut I do have it all planned out I'm going to be doing a marathon of all the films ending with Part 1 on the 12th... aaand then on the 13th (Part 2 is coming out on the 13th in Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands) I'm going to dress up in my Hogwarts outfit :3 and go to see Part 2 in the IMAX in Rotterdam! It's going to be awesome...

If anyone else going to the IMAX in Rotterdam, let me know!

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

I'm still hoping the US premiere is in LA not NY because of the dissapoinment of last year red carpet event

LA is a great place to have the premiere there because of the fan interactions, entertianment captial of the world, and nice weather lol.

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

I'm gonna go to the London premiere, knowing I'll only be able to see the stars but not beyond because of tickets. I was really trying to find competitions across the internet for this one but it's harder than most. I've only ever been to the HBP London premiere by myself and I didn't have a ticket either but I know if I could win some this time around it would be amazing.

Re: Deathly Hallows Part 2 - Premieres

^ do you mean getting tickets for actually seeing the movie beforehand?

I am ghonestly way too excited already. haha.
I have heard you are supposed to be there really early? is that right? so this is they are not doing the red carpet at LS but at TS which is exciting because there is more room for more people.

do you know how likely it is to actually get an autograph or something from the actors?
