Re: Monty Python

I used to watch it a lot but it's so hard to find on TV. I almost bought the whole set but it was too expensive...

By the way, Mad_Druid, I like your signature and yur icon

Re: Monty Python

I saw Holy Grail and The Meaning of Life years ago and I've known about their most famous sketches (Lumberjack Song, Dead Parrot) since I was younger, but I only recently watched the whole series after blind-buying the mega 16-disc set a few months ago. I think the show is hysterical, and I loved seeing all the episodes for the first time. I was surprised that most of the specific Python-esque humor from the '60s and '70s could still be funny (and very silly ) today.

I think Upperclass Twit of the Year is my favorite sketch of all time. I could watch that over and over and still have tears in my eyes. And although the fourth series of the show seemed really slow and awkward to me, the Most Awful Family in Britain sketch of the very last episode made me laugh so hard. I know a few families like that.

It's difficult to pick a favorite Python, so it's pretty much a toss-up between John Cleese and Michael Palin. Their characters are usually the funniest.

Re: Monty Python

Anyone catch the live-stream from London's O2 on Sunday, July 20, of "Monty Python Live (Mostly)"?

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff...

....I miss David Tennant....
