Hot Fuzz.

My eyes are as big as saucers! I've just gone back the whole fourteen pages of thread titles and didn't spot one for this film. So...

Fan of the wonderful Shaun of the Dead? Spaced? Well the team that bought you those are back with Hot Fuzz, a buddy cop film..with a differance. I just hope I'm not the only one who can't wait to see this.

SYNOPSIS

Top London cop, Police Constable Nicholas Angel, finds himself reassigned to the sleepy West Country village of Sandford. With garden fetes and neighbourhood watch meetings replacing the action of the city, Angel struggles to adapt to his situation and finds himself partnered with Danny Butterman, an oafish but well meaning young Constable. Just as all seems lost, a series of grisly accidents motivates Angel into action. Convinced of foul play, Angel realises that Sandford may not be as idyllic as it seems.

Yes it's very good. It's a lot like SotD in that there are a lot of pop culture references, like Star Wars etc and it's also very, very funny. It's basically about a guy and a girl who pretend to be a couple so that they can both live in a flat where the rent is very low. Simon Pegg is the guy and the actress who in Shaun of the Dead plays his friend that he hasn't seen in a few years is the girl. Nick Frost is in it too. It was a two season TV series and worth catching on DVD

PS I'm so glad that there are other people who can't wait to see Hot Fuzz

I can't wait for this film!! I was laughing so hard when I saw the trailer and it had 'You never taken a short cut before?' Genius tie-ins to Shawn of the Dead, one of my favourite films. Bring. It. On.

Re: Hot Fuzz.

So far the internet reviews are very good. It opens Friday in the UK and (I think) April 20th in the USA.

Spoiler: show
OK apparently there is a dont-wink-or-you-will-miss-it cameo by none other than Peter Jackson...amongst others

Re: Hot Fuzz.

from Variety

spoof "Hot Fuzz" with $11.6 million at 422 in what was the fourth biggest opening ever for a Brit pic on its home turf.

The U.K. launch of "Hot Fuzz," starring Simon Pegg as an investigator probing a series of deaths in an English village, marked the fifth largest British debut for a Universal pic behind "Bridget Jones 2," "King Kong," "Love Actually" and "Hannibal." David Kosse, president of the newly minted Universal Pictures Intl., told Variety that the pic's blend of comedy and action has managed to draw well from all demos and should do more than $28 million in the U.K. by the end of its run.

"This opening is a real indication of strong future business outside the U.K.," Kosse noted. "And we can't pretend that we expected it to do this much."

"Hot Fuzz" will open in Australia on March 15, in Holland and Russia on April 5, in Norway and Sweden on April 13 and in the United States on April 20.
<---- It dosen't mention Italy though, this might mean that It'll be quicker to wait for the DVD to come out in the UK and get it sent over then to wait for it to hit Italian screens

But it's still great to know that it's doing so well

Re: Hot Fuzz.

One of the factors that made the film all that more enjoyable for me was that it was filmed in the city of Wells, which is a short car journey for me. It really is a peaceful place, with some beautiful scenery.

Re: Hot Fuzz.

it was a brilliant film, the comedy was great: a joke every minute, but also there was so much action, basically the last half-hour is all guns blazing, literally. i definetly recommend it. the part where it spoofed "point break" was well funny. to the americans reading this thinking that the best spoof films in the world are these awful epic, date and scary movies well think again. coz "shaun of the dead" and "hot fuzz" are FAR better.
