Sara Shepard Books

I know there's a thread in the Diagon Alley area, so I thought it'd be okay to put one here?

So I did try to watch the show, but I kept missing it. Then I hear they were a book series and now I'm kind of interested in reading the series. Has anyone read them yet or heard about the actual books?

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

Finised the last book in the series today. The whole series was good as a whole. Shepard kept me interested throughout all eight books. I hope someone else decides to pick them up as well so there could be some discussion.

My neice and I are just starting this series. We both caught some of the tv series as well. So far it's following the show pretty well or the show followed it pretty well.

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

I love this series and the mystery it presents. I think Shepard did a good job on keeping us guessing throughout the series.

She did definitely, especially the last book. That was a shocker.

Has anyone read The Lying Game by Shepard?

No, I haven't, but I want to. I've heard it's also going to become a TV show on ABC Family I believe.

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

It looks really good so far. I'll definitely have to check it out so I can see if I want to rea the book.

But PLL is definitely a great series. I like how it really shows who Alison really is and that she turned out not to be the friend the girls wanted her to be. She held all their secrets over their heads and taunted them with them. She threatened them and used blackmail to ge them to do her bidding. To me, that makes her really mean, and once the girls realize this, they seem to understand that she wasn't who they thought she was.

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

I would advise you to read the books soon because they tell more than the TV series. The TV series doesn't really follow the books, and it may be a long time before they reveal who A really is. So, read the books first.

I think Shepard has another book out in The Lying Game series.

"A" may even be completely different as well. Not only does the tv series not completely follow the show the tv series introduces characters that aren't in the book. That isn't a complaint mind you. Both the book and the tv are fun individually to me. I like different aspects of each.

Did you read the most recent book, came out a week or so ago?

What book? I thought the Pretty Little Liars series is done. If you're talking about The Lying Game series, no, I haven't. Then again I haven't read the first one. I'd like to though.

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

I read all of the Pretty Little Liars books, including the new one that just came out, Twisted. They are fabulous. And let me say, the last one really is TWISTED. Aria is my favorite she is so cool and mature. She makes me want to visit Iceland.
Has anyone else read the 9th book? I am dying to discuss Alison and her 9 lives!

Wait, there's one after Twisted?

EDIT
Looking at my bookshelf, apparently I missed one. How could that be? Well, I know what's next on my list.

there are 4 new PLL books in the series. The first one "Twisted" is already out, and the next one, I think its called "Ruthless" is coming out in December

Really? I thought the series ended with Wanted. Hmm, I'll have to check that out.

Why is she coming out with more though? I think it should've just ended where it was.

Re: Pretty Little Liars (The Books)

Yeah, I agree. I thought it ended with Wanted and she was starting a new series with The Lying Game. I'll have to see though if Twisted is a new PLL book. It might be the second book in the Lying Game series as Wanted was the conclusion to PLL. And if it is a new PLL book, then she lied about there being only eight books. I liked the ending to Wanted though.
