Re: the Nintendo DS

YAAAAAY, you finally got one!!! I've been waiting for you to! Oh, you need to tell me what games you get and your codes so we can finally play together!

*ahem*
As far as I know memory is stored in the game cartridge itself; you can pop my game into your DS and come up with my files. There are always at least two available slots, and most often there are three.

Re: the Nintendo DS

Cool, thanks! Right now I just have some Kirby game. I'm going to get Phantom Hourglass soon.

I still need a proper charger. I got a "starter kit" that I thought came with a charger, but it was a car charger.

Re: the Nintendo DS

Ooh is it Kirby Superstar Ultra? That's a great game! You have all the colour and cuteness of kirby but it's also challenging (in later levels) and interesting.

Yep, I just checked.

I haven't played it yet, though.

But seriously, I could probably be your walkthrough for that game if you need one.

Re: the Nintendo DS

I have a question about the friends code for the DS. Is it different for every game? There isn't one standard code that comes with the system?

I think that it is. And it is different for every game. Nope, not as far as I know.

Re: the Nintendo DS

It's even more complicated than that; my husband and I each have a DS and when I put, say, Animal Crossing into mine and get a friend code, if he puts it into his own it will erase my code to give him a new one. If he wants to get a code for his player he uses my DS so as not to eliminate my code. In other words, the game attaches itself to your DS and the code is specific to the game/DS combination.

Re: the Nintendo DS

I'm so excited about the DSi. I wasn't all that impressed at first but the more I think about it the more excited I get. Plus my local game store has a deal on where if you trade in your DS Lite plus any 2 games you can get a DSi for about $100 I have 2 games I've never played so that's a wonderful deal for me. Cant wait.

Also for anybody who has experience with Wii points, you'll be able to do the same on DSi. Now that's exciting IMO.

Stylus driven is my favorite but they both work for me. :agee:

I have Harvest Moon, Mario Party, and a few others that I'm too tired to think of the name of right now.
5. What games would you recommend?
Mario Party
6. Anything else you'd like to say?
No.

Re: the Nintendo DS

1. Do you own a DS? If you do, is it the regular or lite version?
Yup pre-ordered mine and got it on the releaseday so mine is the first model.

2. What is your favorite type of game to play, stylus-driven or button-driven?
A combination of both.

. How do you feel about the games that are out right now?
Sandly I hardly use my DS and I have no clue of what games that have been released

4. What games do you have?
Only Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

5. What games would you recommend?
I'm not the right person to ask that question.

6. Anything else you'd like to say?
Yup, anyone else that is looking forward to the new Zelda game that Nintendo announced at GDC yesterday?

Re: the Nintendo DS

Got my DSi yesterday (Australian launch day ) and I am in love. It is so much fun. The camera quality isn't great unless you have the right lighting but there's so much to mess around with, I love it. Cant wait to wifi with my boyfriend's Wii and download stuff Don't forget guys, if you register your console on the Nintendo website you get 1000 free Nintendo points

Re: the Nintendo DS

1. Do you own a DS? If you do, is it the regular or lite version?
I got a black DSi
And i still got my old DS Lite. Its a little broken, so i guess selling it would be a bad idea.
2. What is your favorite type of game to play, stylus-driven or button-driven?
Stylus-driven!
3. How do you feel about the games that are out right now?
Zelda rocks.
4. What games do you have?
Visit my game collection:
http://n-club.no/community/samling/2820/
And scroll down to "Nintendo DS".
5. What games would you recommend?
Id like to recommend Zelda: Phantom Hourglass! Its an awesome game No need to say more
M&L:Partners in Time was also nice
6. Anything else you'd like to say?
If youre buying a DS, Buy a DSi, not a DS lite. Many people say its not worth it because the difference between it and the Lite is small. But thats WRONG! Its just so worth the money! How many people didnt go from DS (the first one, DS Fat as we call it :P) to DS Lite?! The difference between DSi and DS Lite is way much bigger than the difference between DS Fat and DS Lite.

Btw, the DSi doesnt have GBA slot. This is also a big reason that people says DSi is bad.
If you really want to play GBA games, buy a GBA or a Lite.
I think theres also a Guitar Hero game for DS that uses the GBA slot for something. (Isnt it?) This game can, of course, not be played on the DSi.
(P.S. Rumors says that GBA games will come to DSiWare.)
(P.S.P.S I dont really belivie these rumors.)

Thats not exactly right. You will get 1000 free nintendo points, if you connect to DSi Shop before October 3rd. (Or is this only for Europe?)

Re: the Nintendo DS

^ I got both... I got points for registering with the website and connecting to the shop (before the deadline). But connecting to the shop is no big deal. Just find a wireless network and switch it on.

Re: the Nintendo DS

Woot. A DS thread.

Quote:
1. Do you own a DS? If you do, is it the regular or lite version?
Yup. A Black DS Lite. <3

Quote:
2. What is your favorite type of game to play, stylus-driven or button-driven?
Technically both are fine. But I'll prefer a game that allows me to use the stylus to move because the buttons can get really uncomfortable at times.

Quote:
3. How do you feel about the games that are out right now?
Heh. Awesome.
Though I don't really enjoy strategy RPGs, but yeah, it's a great library ^_^

Quote:
4. What games do you have?
Gonna be a long list... I'll list what I can remember: Final Fantasy III-IV, Chocobo Tales, Nintendogs (forgot which version), SRTOGEF, TWEWY, Rune Factory 2, Contact, SMTS, all four Phoenix Wright games including Apollo Justice, Ouendan 1&2, EBA, Chrono Trigger, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Trauma Center 2, Pokemon Ranger: SoA, MD:StW, Rocket Slime, MMSF: Dragon & Red Joker, Izuna 2, Dokapon Journey, Izuna 2... yeah, I think that's about that I can remember for now..

Quote:
5. What games would you recommend?
Probably TWEWY if you like a stylus driven game.
SRTOGEF if you like classic RPG-style gameplay.
Devil Survivor and Disgaea if you love strategy games.
Hotel Dusk if you like novel & detective gameplay.

Quote:
6. Anything else you'd like to say?
I'll never regret getting a DS!

Re: the Nintendo DS

I don't have one... but from the looks of things, they cost too much...

I'm just waiting til' I can get a new battery for my own ds. But on a lighter note, I saw a sale for DS lites... only $99 (not including tax) over at Target (if I remember correctly). If I only had the money... that would be the perfect price for me to get one of those.

Re: the Nintendo DS

1. Do you own a DS? If you do, is it the regular or lite version?

It's a DS Lite. Although pink isn't the color I'd have chosen, it's very easy to find in my cluttered room!

2. What is your favorite type of game to play, stylus-driven or button-driven?
Button driven, even though the touch screen does a fantastic job of picking things up, sometimes it misses things!

3. How do you feel about the games that are out right now?
I pick up the newest issue of Nintendo Power and see that 5 more anime-esque roleplaying games are coming to the handheld.

*headdesk* I can't wait for Pokemon HeartGold/Soulsilver.

4. What games do you have?
Pokemon Pearl/Blue Mystery Dungeon, Rhythm Heaven, Polaris, Sonic Rush, Animal Crossing, Kirby Super Star Ultra, and things I don't recall the name of.

5. What games would you recommend?
No idea, but I'd like to play a Professor Layton game one day.

6. Anything else you'd like to say?

Mm, not really.

Re: the Nintendo DS

1. Do you own a DS? If you do, is it the regular or lite version?
Lite

2. What is your favorite type of game to play, stylus-driven or button-driven?
Hmm, I guess stylus since it's what makes the DS different

3. How do you feel about the games that are out right now?
I don't even know what's new right now... But I'm happy with the stuff I have now.

4. What games do you have?
Pokemon Diamond, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise, New Super Mario Bros., Super Princess Peach, Diddy Kong Racing, Boing! Docomodake, and more (but I play these the most)

5. What games would you recommend?
All of the above, and if you like puzzles, try Docomodake. It's not really hard, but keeps you occupied and you can always go back and try to beat your best score.
