I totally agree. This is by far the most hilarious line, only because of the delivery, in any of the movies. My little sister does a great impression of it.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

I'm with the above, "I killed Sirius Black" is delivered amazingly. Pretty much any Bellatrix line is. I'm currently obsessed with, "He knows how to play! Itty, bitty, baby. Potter!" and "How's mom and dad?"
Tonks at the beginning of OOTP, "Very clean these muggles...unnatural!" is another favorite.
Any line of Luna's. "You're just as sane as I am," "I hope there's pudding," "I suspect nargles are behind it."
Also, "But you can't deny, Dumbledore's got style."
And I don't know why, but I absolutely love, "How touching and paternal, Black. Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather." "Now you stay out of this, Snivellus."
I have too many.

Totally agree. The whole movie I was waiting for Umbridge to get her comeuppance, and Harry delived this line as if he was sitting down for tea - no anger, no revenge, just a matter of course.

"Bambling bumbling band of baboons, bambling bumbling band of baboons, bambling bumbling..." That was classic Fred and George right there.

Harry - "It's a broom cupboard."
Rita Skeeter - "You should feel right at home then."

(As Madame Maxine passes their table)
Seamus - "That's one - big - woman."

Umbridge: One teensy little phropecy?... Pity
Trelawney: No wait, wait no I do think I see something. Yes, I do something dark. You are in grave danger.
Umbrige: Lovely

When watching GoF I'd completely skimmed over that line, and now it finally makes sense to me! So funny!

My favorite was "The spiders...they want me to tap dance...I don't want to tapdance." "You tell those spiders, Ron".

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

hmmm...My favorite has to be when Umbridge questions Snape during class and she asks him:

"you applied first to the defense against the dark arts post. Is that right?"
"Yes."
"And you were denied?"
"Obviously."

I love that...Snape is sooo sinister and Rickman plays him brillantly...Finally the filmwriters can't hide him anymore! he is the HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!

I think it's babbling, bumbling, band of baboons. I only mention it bec I had it in yesterday.

My favorite line is:

McGonnagall: Perhaps I should change both of you into a watch. Perhaps one of you will be on time.
Harry (or is it Ron): We got lost.
McGonnagall: Then a map perhaps. I trust you don't need a map to find your seats.

(The above is paraphrased and not an exact quote.)

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

My favorite line, as my signature explains is as follows:

"Mad-Eye! What are you doing?!"

"Teaching."

"Is that a student?!"

"Technically it's a ferret."

I also like almost every other line from the movies but I think most of you guys put them down.

(plus I don't quite know if I could fit all of them on this page...)

Mad-Eye in GoF: Technically it's a ferret.

Snape in OotP: Obviously.

Snape in OotP: I may vomit.

Draco in CoS: I didn't know you could read.

And plenty more XD.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

In Chamber of Secrets, after Harry and Ron push Lockart down the Chamber, Lockhart says:

"It's really quite filthy down here."

For some odd reason, I thought that was funny.
I guess it was his delivery. The way he said it made me laugh.

I found that quite funny too! I didn't laugh much in CoS, apart from Lockhart's scenes. Kenneth Branagh was great as Lockhart!

I agree! He's brilliant!

I also found the part where he was packing up to leave quite funny. When Harry and Ron enter, he quickly locks up his luggage and looks at them with a wild expression on his face. Then Harry, with as much attitude as possible, says, "Are you going somewhere?"

Hopefully, my weird sense of humor isn't creeping anyone out.

Re: Funniest lines in the films?

I also liked the part in OotP when Mrs. Weasley says: " It's Dinner time!" And then Fred and George apparate behind her and she screams.

I just find that amusing for some reason. Maybe it's because I love Fred and George?

Hermione: "Did you know that the ancient Egyptians used to worship cats."

Ron: "Yeah! Along with a dung beetle."

I loved those lines ! I also loved -- "I'm sorry professor, I must not tell lies."- Harry

I just loved when Harry said that to Professor Umbridge, the look on her face was just classic -- she was royally ticked off!
