Cows are NOT sacred, they are honoured and respected. There is a difference.

I can't believe you're asking that! That is such an insanely ignorant question! Did you really think that all of India is a village and all Indians are illiterate or something? I don't mean to be rude, but I'm sorry, that was a really ignorant question!

Re: Questions for the Indians

I was wondering, do some/all parts of India participate in the caste system? I have read books and seen documentaries, etc. from the past, where it was in place. Also, what is the political system like in India?

Re: Questions for the Indians

I would LOVE to visit India sometime. One of my friends has been, and she loved it. Most of my India knowledge comes from watching 'Bride and Prejudice', haha! I want to see 'Salaam Namaste' because it was filmed here in Australia, but I haven't been able to find the DVD anywhere. I'm looking forward to the 2010 Commonwealth Games being held in New Delhi, I hope the TV coverage here shows us a bit of the city. India is a very advanced country compared to a lot of places - there are other countries in Asia with much more underdeveloped economies and education than India.
