They have Peony Pink for Clamp school detectives, Wish for Wish, I can't remember the name of the opening for Maria-sama ga miteru. And there's also Boukaku Kakusei Catharyst (can't spell).

Also, Jup, my favourite Sailor Moon soundtrack has to be Sailor Moon R movie, and Sailor Moon S. IMO their best period.

WitchHunter, who's not if they end up in this thread? Come on...

In the music realm, I love the opening themes to s-Cry-ed, Rozen Maiden (first season), and Elfen Lied. I also like the closing theme to s-Cry-ed, but not as much as the opening.

Good point.

Also, I forgot to mention it before, but if anyone does intend to watch Kanon, be sure to watch the subtitled version. There was nothing overtly wrong with with the dub, but if you watch it first you'll miss a few things. For those who have seen the sub, Nayuki's "Fight!" is for some reason absent from the dub, and the game of Shiritori (a Japanese word game) that Yuichi and Mai play makes absolutely no sense in English.

Did I mention already that I also like the opening of Silent Moebius?
Also is Shaman King cool.

Am I the only one who thinks that anime have the best openings and the best lyrics?

I agree. Animes have some of the best music compared to other types of shows.

Wow, blast to the past. Todokanu Omoi: My Friend's Love, is the name of that song. I haven't heard that in years. I also like the instrumental version, which has Michiru playing her violin with this song. It was used in the episode where Michiru and the Three Lights did a joint concert.

Really, I didn't recognized that she played the same song.

There is another SM song I like, something like nagareboshi e or so. I can't remember.

I'll stick with anime music for now. I like a lot of anime though

Looove that song, even though I didn't like the 3 lights. When I was like 14 I tried to adapt the translated lyrics to a singable english song and convince 3 of my guy friends to put aside their dignity and their hate for SM to sing it. Needless to say, I didn't get far in that project

I recently rediscovered Sailor Moon collection and spent like the whole night listening squeeing about how much I loved them all - I know my roommates thought I lost it that night ^ _____ ^ I have no idea why I excluded them when I got this computer though.

But anyway, I love a lot of anime music. I like a majorite of songs and music from:
Tenchi Muyo
Cowboy Bebop
School Days
Fruits Basket
Elfen Lied
Inuyasha
FF: Advent Children (does that count :P?)

And then there are shows where I just love the Op. and Ending themes or a select few songs/music:

Paranoia Agent
Rahxephon
Pokemon
Boys Over Flowers
Peach Girl
Rayearth
Gravitation
School Days
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Pretear
Evangelion

And a lot more I'm probably forgetting.

Quote:
Marmalade Boy: I was a fanatic of this when I first started watching it years ago. It was like an animated soap opera, but the love quadrilaterals that became prominent became tiresome and unncessary and, imo, ruined the show, which made it get to the point where it wasn't watchable anymore. Miki's character didn't help it either with her insecurity issues and always worrying over Yuu's getting attracted to someone else and leaving her, when it was obvious that the boy wasn't going anyplace.
ITA. I was watching it On Demand for awhile, but it got soo repetitive I ended up just reading the episode synopsises instead.

Quote:
Shin Shirayukihime Densetsu Pretear: I dislike this anime with a passion!! The manga was so nice, and one of my favorites! The anime, imo, just totally ruined it with its changes, such as Sasame's betrayal.
Sasame's betrayal shocked the heck out of me -- I hadn't read the manga in awhile so I was like "omg, ******, I don't remember this?!" I usually like it when some creative license is used, but since the biggest gripe I had with the manga was it's length and how confusing all that info was crammed into 4 vols, the fact they made they made the anime 12 episodes and changed the ending didn't do any justice for me.

Ohh ever watched Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo?

A few minutes of watching and I almost had a epileptic seizure. @_@

I love Dema****a! Powerpuff Girls Z! It's really good and I just love the storyline and plot and everything. The villains are even worse in this show than in the original, especially Him. And I'm in love with the Rowdyruff Boys! Especially Brick he's so adooorable!

Re: Favorite/least favorite Anime Shows & Soundtracks

my favourite all-time anime is Ouran High School Host Club!the soundtrack is good too!
I'm not fond of Gundam SEED & S/Destiny,much to the point of hating it.
Everyone can tell the plots are recycled, the storylines are boring and the characters are annoying,
they should have put a lot more actions rather than floating naked in mid air..
however I can't debate no more about how enjoyable the OSTs are, although
the story is dumpable..

.Hack//SIGN is my favorite Anime by far.

As for my least, I'm not too sure. Probably Naruto I guess.
Too childish and the american voices are horrible on there in my opinion.

My favorite anime soundtrack are the .Hack//SIGN ones of course!

Re: Favorite/least favorite Anime Shows & Soundtracks

I don't want to list my favourite Animes , I would probably forget too many because I am tired.
I have favourite Soundtracks though. I think the openings from Higurashi no naku koro ni (kai) and Umineko no naku koro ni are awesome. There's an opening for the anime Umineko no naku koro ni ( katayoku no tori) and for the game, and both are great. It's kind of "strange" at first, but with good sound quality and head phones it is great. If anyones interested just look it up at youtube.
Lilium (Elfen Lied) is also very nice. There's more but I can't think of it right now..
There are a lot of Anime I started to watch but then I lost interest or didn't even get past episode 1. I don't really have a least favourite Anime though.

Cowboy BeBop has one of the best soundtracks, I think. I love a lot of the music on there.

Also, I absolutely love the music from Princess Tutu; it's mainly classical pieces and ballets. Beautiful, beautiful music.

Re: Favorite/least favorite Anime Shows & Soundtracks

The music from Gravitation is really good~ Though I usually prefer to listen to calming music, like the ending from Loveless and Hitoribocchi no Sadame, a character song for Hibari Kyoya from Katekyo Hitman Reborn~ But my favorite song would have to be I, Ai, Ai from Gintama~ ^^

Sorry, but I've just noticed this post. Marmalade Boy's manga is actually decent (imo). The "love quadrilaterals" and repetitiveness was close to non-existent, imo. It also didn't become annoying.

In all honesty, the manga never confused me, but I did wish it was longer than just 4 volumes. But the other stuff you said about the anime series, I felt the same way. I don't mind a little creativity, but not to that extent.

Re: Favorite/least favorite Anime Shows & Soundtracks

^I definitely need to reread it again. My only memory of reading it now is just me being thoroughly confused towards the end - but then again, that was back in high school, when manga hardly ever stayed on the shelves and I sped-read a lot.. So the confusion might have been on my part

I should watch the anime again as well... it's just collecting dust on the shelf whispering "watch me, it's been yeeeaaars...."

The Cowboy Bebop soundtrack should have classic status by now, it is that good.

I like a lot of anime OP and end themes, and some of my favourites were from the Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle:Tokyo Revelations and Tsubasa: Shunraiki OVAs, which is funny considering that I didn't love the OP and end themes from the actual show itself that much. And I have a real soft corner for the music from La Corda d'Oro, opening and end themes as well as all the lovely classical music played in the show itself.
