Woot! Thanks for the date, Midnightsfire. Can't wait to get this one from the library. It's too soon to get on the list there though .

Coming out just as school ends. Means I can have a Dresden summer! A series reread may even be in order.

Ahh, I need to get started on my reread! I'm looking forward to this one.
I'm really hoping that he does some book signings in my area. Or near enough to travel to for a few days.

I left the Dresden Files at Death Masks and then I find they've leapt up to #15 when I wasn't looking. Got some major catching up to do, but I like them more and more with each one I read.

And after not reading them for ages, I've had the chance to appreciate how effortless it is to get absorbed back into the story.

Re: Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) 2.0

I enjoyed the interpretation of Hades...
Spoiler: show
And the things in common he has with Dresden that he mentioned. A very good dog...Warden/jailer of powerful entities.
That and the mentioning that among the 3 Greek Gods (Poseidon, Hades, Zeus) only Hades was the more steadfast at his duties.

And the skinwalker was a nice addition

Re: Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) 2.0

Just got a chance to look at the new one at a local store...

Spoiler: show
Damn... finally! Some more Harry and Karrin action (making out is better than nothing ). The story looks really intense too. Looking forward to reading it.

Agreeing both about Hades and the skinwalker. Both are a need addition in their own right and I look forward to see even more of them (probably more by the skinwalker) in the next books.

Molly keeps the worrisome kind, naturally, but this time is the first I wondered whether we saw some foreshadowing of a fight/battle Harry- Molly or even a sacrifice on her side before turning into a bad thing. I'd not mind if there's not much to fight against at all, though. But I doubt her showing signs of inhumanity will be an easy deal.

Re: Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) 2.0

Just checked my local libraries site today and it turns out that the book is in transit!! Can't wait to start reading it!

Edit: Just checked tonight and they got it in! Will be picking it up tomorrow!! I'm SO psyched!

Edit, Edit: Am reading it right now...

Spoiler: show
Damn... I'm floored by parts of it... including Harry's dream about him and Karrin . Darn bee . It's just getting better and better, book wise.

It seems as if Hannah Ascher is just a symbol of lust for him and Murphy is a symbol of who he truly loves and wants to be with (lust is still there, but love is more important in the end ).

Only thing I didn't like in the book were the constant references to Parkour . That got on my nerves after awhile .

Really loved the ending with Harry and Karrin though . A nice transition into a relationship between the two of them.

Very nice job, Mr. Butcher !

Re: Dresden Files (Jim Butcher) 2.0

“Do you know my dog's name?” “Cerberus,” I said promptly. “But everyone knows that.” “Do you know what it means?” I opened my mouth and closed it again. I shook my head. “It is from an ancient word, kerberos. It means ‘spotted.’” I blinked. “You’re a genuine Greek god. You’re the Lord of the Underworld. And . . . you named your dog Spot?”

Went up to Barnes and Noble recently and picked up three Dresden books. Skin Game, Cold Days and Ghost Story .
