Fairy tale remakes

There was an article in today's issue of USA Today that was all about the "grown-up" remakes of fairy tales to come. These include:

Red Riding Hood: starring Amanda Seyfried (and Gary Oldman!)
Maleficent: directed by Tim Burton (no cast confirmed)
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters: starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton
Jack and the Giant Killer: directed by Bryan Singer
Oz: The Great and Powerful

The spark of interest in remaking fairy tales came after the success of Burton's Alice. Also, the movies are going to add more plot and make them for a more mature audience.

Does this spark anyone's interest? As a fan of Disney, I'm excited to see how they can make the tales more grown-up, seeing as I'm now 18 years old.
