I have a feeling they will have to get a different actor to play Jacob in New Moon. While he will grow up some, that kid is only 15 years old, and they are hoping to start doing some New Moon shooting right after Twilight so he won't have much of a chance to grow into the six foot, muscle-y Jacob that we begin to see in the second book/movie. They will probably have to get a second actor to play the other Jacob because he is supposed to look more like he is in his mid-20s.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

I just found a new (new to me, anyways) still of the movie:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...rdThroatlg.jpg

It's Edward and James fighting. I wasn't a big fan of Robert Patterson as Edward...but I'm starting to change my mind.

Intriguing! I must say I like their choice for James!

Wow! It is great that they are planning to do filming so soon after Twilight wraps. If that plan stays, I agree they may have to get a new actor because the audience will really need to feel the change that Jacob made in the book. I still like SM's choice for Jacob here is a link to his IMBD page:

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0017335/

I think they said he was already busy durring the filming of Twilight, but maybe he will be free for New Moon

I believe I read in a set report something about them wanting to get in some of the shooting before the winter because it will be quite long and cold in Oregon!

I think he looks like the perfect guy to take over the part of Jacob in New Moon and Eclipse. He even looks a little like the boy who is playing Jacob now!

Oh wow that pic of Edward and James is so intense! Yeah, I agree I like how the guy who plays James looks, he reminds me a lot of Brad Pitt in Interview with a Vampire.
I highly dislike who they picked for Jacob and I hope they pick a taller, more native american looking actor for New Moon. Someone mentioned this already but Jacob is supposed to look a lot older and *ahem ahem* hotter than before hehe, I guess you can tell I have a jacob crush right?

Oh! I also forgot to mention, Stephanie updated her site with some info on her time on set again...and a pic with her and the "normal people" cast.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

Oh, they actually stuck to a blue dress (unlike this other movie I saw once...the girl was supposed to have a blue dress and they changed it.....what could that be....). I like it! Poor Bella, her face!!

Ok, I'm so ready for a trailer already, I want one now!!

Now him, I like as Jacob. The actor they have now is far too young, and they're going to need a new actor, at least after the transformation. And he looks so much younger then Bella that it doesn't make sense that she'd be interested in him at all

Isn't that the point though? In Twilight, Jacob is just this kid who's the son of her father's friend, and she uses him to learn about the vampires. It isn't until New Moon when he goes through his unnatural growth phase that Bella begins to notice Jacob as anything else. I think they've done a good job of casting a cute "kid" as Jacob for now, and I bet they'll replace him for New Moon and Eclipse.

I wholeheartedly agree. This reminds me of the Sirius Black casting. When Gary Oldman was cast, many fans complained that he wasn't good-looking and young enough, thereby completely ignoring the fact that Sirius lost his good looks in Azkaban. So yeah, they need an actor who is either versatile enough to pull off the change from boy to man or they need to cast another actor for New Moon.

Well, I understand that Jacob is supposed to start off young, and then go through massive growth spurts, so I understand why he was cast young. I'm just against changing actors in the middle of a series. For the sake of continuity, I think it would be easier to cast Jacob younger then Bella, but so much that the actor can't pull off a transformation in New Moon. We have to be able to see Jacob under the transformation, and with a new actor, I think that would be really hard to do.

Plus, to me, this Jacob actor looks 13 or something. He looks 5 years younger then Bella, and it's only supposed to be a 2 year gap.

I don't think it's possible to pick an actor who will be able to play both a sort of scrawny 15-year-old and a six foot tall, muscular 20-looking-year-old. It's not just physiologically possible. Part of the reason Jacob's growth is so striking is because it's unbelievable. Plus, they don't usually shoot movies in sequence so, even if he were to grow throughout the filming, it wouldn't fall in line with the schedule. I just can't imagine how you could achieve this phenomenon without switching actors.

Also, most of those pictures on IMDb are from 2005. I would hazard a guess that he has grown some by now.

Edward - Robert is supposed to be using an American accent for the movie.

Re: Twilight - The Movie

Yeah, he is doing an American accent, from the clips I've seen so far it sounds pretty good.

Heres the most recent clips from the movie and interviews with the cast:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD6DFloIXyE

About the accent though, isnt his accent supposed to be a little weird in the book because hes from the 1920s and they used to speak a little more formal back then...so I guess Rob being british is a good thing

That spot is awesome! I loved being able to see some of the other characters that we haven't heard much from yet. It looks really great!!
