Re: Monty Python

My favourite is

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's [swearword] all down here on Earth.

I love the way that he comes out of the fridge!

And the way that the universe is "born"

Re: Monty Python

I just remembered my other favorite part of the holy grail. The one where a king tells two guards to "stay here and make sure he doesn't leave", he's talking about his son the prince. But the guards kept saying something else like

"we are not to enter the room until you come and get him"
"we are not to do anything apart of stopping you from coming here"
"can he leave with us?"

I have to see it on youtube again, it was hysterical.

Minstrel: [singing] Brave Sir Robin ran away...
Sir Robin: *No!*
Minstrel: [singing] bravely ran away away...
Sir Robin: *I didn't!*
Minstrel: [singing] When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
Sir Robin: *I never did!*
Minstrel: [singing] Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about, and valiantly, he chickened out.
Sir Robin: *Oh, you liars!*
Minstrel: [singing] Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat. A brave retreat by brave Sir Robin.

Scots of the Antarctic is brilliant. So funny! Then, Scots of the Antarctic becomes Scots of the Sahara.

"And the blood goes 'psssshhhh' in slow motion!"

One of my favorites too. That, the 'Bring Out Your Dead', and the Killer Rabbit ones are my favorite too.

I was at the mall yesterday with my friends and we saw this man dressed in a bunny costume, right when we saw him we ran away yelling, "Killer rabbit!".

Re: Monty Python

I love Monty Python, a lot of my friends think I'm crazy because they don't get the humor, but I adore them. I think as far as my favorite python, its a toss up between John and Eric. favorite moments, where to start? I love the dead parrot skit so much that for my high school talent show me and a friend of mine did it, she actually bought the parrot so we could do it.

as far as the movies, my favorites are:

Coconuts

and

French Taunter

A nods as good as a wink to a blind bat. (I love that line)

My favorite Python is Terry Jones - I think he is an amazing writer and performer. I love Terry Gilliam also for his wonderful direction of films after Python.

My Favorite python movie is the Meaning of Life. Though some of it doesn't work very well it has some of the funniest sketches of all time. And Terry Gilliam dressed as little bow peep! The music and the opening Crimson Permanent Insurance are magnificent.

I wonder where that fish has gone?
You did love it so, you looked after it like a son.
And it went wherever I did go.
(Is it in the cub-ord?)
Wouldn't you like to know?
It was a lovely little fish.
And it went, where ever, I, did go.
Where can that fish be?
It is a most elusive fish!
And it went, where ever, I, did go.

Absolutely! I loved Brothers Grimm and can't wait for his upcoming films! He's been through enough hassle to make them, they had better be good.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is out soon in October and then he is planning to restart The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. I hope he has better luck this time.
