If you go to your Potions, you will see two Potions books at the top. Click on Moste Potente Potions. That's where you will find the recipe. It's in two parts.

You can also find brewing commentary in this thread and on the Web.

Good luck!
Ha! Hadn't picked up the second potions book the first go-round.

Tried brewing the potion and messed up during stirring, so it failed... gotta wait until the ingredients respawn.

Wait until ingredients respawn? You can collect them again as soon as the potion that uses them is brewing. Unless you mean something else?

Well, they didn't show up in Snape's storeroom. I'm guessing those respawn?

Oops... I was searching for the wrong thing. Okay, I think it probably did respawn. Just searched in the wrong spot.

Yes, I noticed that... I would like to post a website and am hoping I don't get "reported" to Umbridge

I doubt you can post it, but is there anything in the Terms that prohibits posting URLs? If it's not in the Terms, then probably the worst that can happen is that it gets crossed off.

However, I do have a chivalrous streak. I do not challenge obvious newbies after beating them. But I will answer their challenges. And that's another thing about Gryffindor... more Gryff newbies will challenge after losing badly - and then challenge again and again and again - when they actually should go back to the practice room and work on Body Bind with other Gryffindors before challenging experienced duelers from other Houses.
I will challenge newbies if I get an instant match and I've cast a 144 or 145 and my opponent is around 50 or less - just because I'm annoyed - or when they start challenging me (and I agree Gryffindors tend, more than other houses, to challenge after getting soundly trounced). Once I start challenging back (as a Slytherin, it's very difficult to pass up a Gryff cub with 'Free Points' stamped on it's forehead), invariably they friend me.

Quote:
It's kind of endearing in a way... not because I'm getting points but because that's exactly the sort of behavior I would expect from Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat does seem to have nailed it.
There was one cute little Gryff that just seemed unable to figure things out and in one session lost to me 50 times in a row. I even started feeling guilty (not a typical Slytherin response) and sent them a gift. Now, instead of dueling, we occasionally gift each other things as a way to wave and say 'hi'.

Quote:
Personally, I find dueling Gryffindor to be great fun. I think Gryffs are the most likely to friend the people they duel. I have a lot of Gryffindor friends - but no Gryff family members. My husband is a Ravenclaw, and my sister is a Hufflepuff.
To date I have a Slytherin, 2 Gryffindors, 2 Hufflepuffs, and a Ravenclaw. They all wanted to get sorted, but aren't interested in doing much on Pottermore, so I just have them send me stuff. Works out very well!

Re: Pottermore v.12

sigh. Glad to know some people have great success with potions and dueling. That's all I have to do is brew a potion. I have the time, I just don't have the knack to move ingredients.
I wish I could just take a test of what ingredients go into which potions.

What are we supposed to put in our "status"? I still haven't figured that out.

Potions: I did manage the test Cure for Boils potion, and the real thing, so I got some points. Which I promptly lost when I melted down my cauldron. So now I stay away from potions and depend on the kindness of friends to brew them for me.

Duelling: I'm as hopeless at that as I am at Potions. I don't know how I ever got past the trap door using the Alohamora spell. Sheer dumb luck, I guess. Now when I try a spell, I can't get past the second letter, all the letters fall out on the floor, the most points I ever got is 25.

Being a Ravenclaw and thus (theoretically) smart, I decline challenges to duel, and never send challenges myself.

Question about that Swelling Potion you can brew in the new chapters. When I want to brew it, it tells me that "Pufferfish eyes" are missing. Do I have to buy them or can I find them in the chapters?

Ah ok, thank you. I went through the chapters again, cause I was sure that I overlooked some stuff, but I couldn't find them anywhere.

Full body bind for Cruses and Counter Curses is worth the most points.

To cast a spell, click on the first letter by using your mouse or keyboard. Once you click on the letter, it will start to pulse. Try to hit the letter again when the pulse is at its biggest. The bigger the pulse, the more accurate and powerful the spell will be. Repeat with the rest of the letters until you complete the spell.

Hope this helps

I've been dueling since August of last year and am pretty good, and the only time I turn down a duel is if I lose 3 times in a row. I like to send out challenges sometimes as well. Mirrormere and I have a screenshot of one of our 144/144 duels

I've tried Polyjuice Potion about 3 times now but have failed because I can't keep the temperature within the lines.

And I really wish Pottermore would tell us which house Lockhart was in.....

Ahhh - memories!

And Snape's wand!

Just a thought - what if Lockhart went to Beauxbattons? He wouldn't have a house.

Yesterday I won my first duel!

But the points were not added to the total points ... why?

Congrats!

Do you mean your total earned were not increased by 5 points? Are you sure?

If you dueled Gryffindor, you don't earn house points against your own house.

Re: Pottermore v.12

I won against a Ravenclaw, so they should increase. I checked again just now, but they have not been added.
There is a box where it says "house points won in duels," but the points mentioned were not added to the total.

That seems odd. Have you refreshed the page? If that doesn't work, I'd report it.

You are aware it should only increase by 5 points, right? Not the amount you cast in the duel.

Re: Pottermore v.12

From the Insider:

"There is now even more to discover on Pottermore. Selected Moments in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone now contain excerpts from the digital audio book for you to enjoy...

If you haven’t discovered where these audio book excerpts are yet, the Insider is on hand to help you locate the chapters or Moments in which they can be found. Over the next five days, we will be releasing different puzzles that will lead you to each of the audio book excerpts in turn.

Are you prepared for the first puzzle? Get ready to add it up...

Using information from the story, complete the following sum to find the chapter in Book One on Pottermore in which an audio book snippet appears:

The number of minutes Professor Lockhart gives his class to complete a test in their first lesson with him, minus the amount of players on a Quidditch pitch, plus the amount of inches of James Potter’s wand, minus the amount of bedrooms in the Dursleys’ house, minus the amount of Galleons a single unicorn horn costs, plus the number of streets away that Mrs Figg lives from the Dursleys
."

Has anyone found them yet?
