Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

Snitchseeker has new information about the collection:

http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-po...ber-7-a-88851/

Most interestingly is a date of release in US: September 7, 2012 (10th in the UK)

Another interesting thing is that they are now showing 'Creating the World of Harry Potter' previews as promoting this set, whereas they seemed to have used to associate then with each UE release. This probably means that the DH UEs will be released alongside the 'Wizards Collection' but they are obviously focusing more on the collection. More so, it seems like this collection may be nothing more than the UEs packed together. Surely they'd want to show an amazing feature not known to be in it rather than just a clip from the documentary we are expecting anyway. However it did say 'over 5 hours', and the new UE stuff was way more than that, so there probably is 5 more hours.

I hope it's not going to be that fancy cabinet--I just want the UEs!!

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

Even more information: http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-po...lection-88852/
And a new website: http://www.harrypotterwizardscollection.com/

So there is at least one bonus disc. the 5 hours of extra footage might just well be the last two UE bonus discs and the extra bonus disc, to be honest. This'd be (Based on UE BD releases):
  1. Philosopher's Stone (including Extended) [BD]
  2. Philosopher's Stone [DVD]
  3. Philosopher's Stone Special Features
  4. Philosopher's Stone UE Disc
  5. Chamber of Secrets (including Extended) [BD]
  6. Chamber of Secrets [DVD]
  7. Chamber of Secrets Special Features
  8. Chamber of Secrets UE Disc
  9. Prisoner of Azkaban [BD]
  10. Prisoner of Azkaban [DVD]
  11. Prisoner of Azkaban Special Features
  12. Prisoner of Azkaban UE Disc
  13. Goblet of Fire [BD]
  14. Goblet of Fire [DVD]
  15. Goblet of Fire Special Features
  16. Goblet of Fire UE Disc
  17. Order of the Phoenix [BD]
  18. Order of the Phoenix [DVD]
  19. Order of the Phoenix UE Disc (including Special Features)
  20. Half-Blood Prince [BD]
  21. Half-Blood Prince [DVD]
  22. Half-Blood Prince UE Disc (including Special Features)
  23. Deathly Hallows Part 1 [BD]
  24. Deathly Hallows Part 1 [DVD]
  25. Deathly Hallows Part 1 [3D BD]
  26. Deathly Hallows Part 1 UE Disc (including Special Features)
  27. Deathly Hallows Part 2 [BD]
  28. Deathly Hallows Part 2 [DVD]
  29. Deathly Hallows Part 2 [3D BD]
  30. Deathly Hallows Part 2 UE Disc (including Special Features)
  31. Bonus Disc

That does make 31 discs....

So yeah, this set is stupid if you've been buying the UEs. But I haven't, so I might end up getting this, and therefore upgrading to Bluray.

My only worry is that it is 'limited'. And also that they might well come out with another set soon after...

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

I am so doubtful about this set dam it, it cost some hell of money too.
I really don't know if I should pre order it or not.

Could I ask the guys who have the ultimate editions set to tell me if they are really worth buying? I mean I have my DVDs with all the deleted scenes but I'm asking what do they really have special these Ultimate Ediotns, are the special features really worth the money? What do they include?

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

Well, for startes they could add more interviews with the cast and add more details behind the scenes of how the movies were made and the special effects as well. But the main points that I would focus on is to have individual interviews with the cast and how they made the movies behind the scenes.

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

I hoped it would include the extended version of all the films (especially for the Order of the Phoenix). Anyway, I do not buy it also because I know that in the one available here in Italy there are no subtitles and for me is a problem…

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

I bought SS and COS in Ultimate editions and regretted it at once. I wasn't blown away by anything about them and now just want to sell them for a reasonable price so I can recoup some of the wasted money I spent on them.

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

This recently showed up Wikipedia (In the Home Media Section of Part 1):

Warner Bros. has announced that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Parts 1 and 2 will be released as a single Ultimate Edition box set. It will be released simultaneously with the Wizards Collection on 7 September 2012, containing new bonus features, documentaries, and collectables. The Bluray set will include 3D versions of the films that are compatible with 3D equipped Bluray players and televisions, while the DVD set will feature a standard anaglyph 3D presentation. 5 pairs of Red and Cyan collector's glasses will be included in the DVD set, modeled after those worn by Harry Potter in the film.[84]

Hope it's true

CaptianBK, if you follow the reference link for that paragraph, there is nothing that confirms that statement, and it is therefore most likely fake.

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

I have no desire to buy the Wizard's Collection as it seems like it is just a repackaged version of the ultimate editions. I have all of the ultimate editions (save for the last 2), and I enjoy them. I really hope they come out with an ultimate edition for the last 2 though.

I'll be really upset if they don't release 7-8.

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

Did anyone hear that the set's coming with a replica of Slytherin's locket now?

I really don't want to spend 170 but I'm starting to come around to the idea of the set. I haven't got any of the Blu-Rays or Ultimate editions yet, and they seem to be announcing better special features as time goes on. Although if they had announced Ravenclaw's Diadem I would definitely be buying it...

You'll find a pretty thorough description, including a video, on Amazon.

DVDs are either Regions 1 or 2, but I think Blu-Rays are universal.

Here's the announcement I'd read earlier about the German Ultimate Editions of 7 & 8:

Re: Ultimate Film Collection Editions etc

Has anyone seen the video of the cast showing off the Wizard's Collection? That box is massive!!!!

Although I still don't think I'm going to get it. I don't really care for all the collectables, and I already have half the discs. I would just prefer a set of the films on Bluray (I only have them on DVD) along with Creating the World of Harry Potter. I don't really care for any of the rest of it... And I care even less for the excessive price tag.

Actually there are 5 Regions, i think, for DVDs. Australia and New Zealand are Region 4. And there are 3 Regions for Bluray, although it is common to find 'universal' Bluray releases.

Harry Potter Ultimate Editions

Hello everyone,

First I just want to say that I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to thread this in, so if its not, please forgive me. :/

Well as many of you might know, WB as been taken Ultimate Editions of the Harry Potter series. Up to today, they've taken out Years 1-6.

Does anybody know if they are still planning to take year 7 (1 and 2) out? And if so, when?

I don't know, I just think that now that they're taking the Ultimate Wizards Collection out, they might not take out the last two installments out

It's sort of sad, since I have bought all 6 years

Does anybody know anything?
