It's just slightly too wide (319).

No, you haven't got a warning point. Your first signature warning is informal. If you repeatedly post signatures that are too big/otherwise break forum rules you would get a warning, but not for a first offence. We know that these things are often accidental, so don't worry - you're not in big trouble. :)

:) Okay, thank you! I promise I will fix it as soon as possible.

It's always a good idea to check the signature pic after putting it into the sig.

When you have uploaded the image in the Edit Signature box, click Preview Signature and check the properties of the image before clicking Save Signature.

Tabby: When you add a picture to a signature, click Preview. Then right-click it, go down to "Properties" and you will get information about the image including the exact size.

Many people here (including myself) would be glad to resize a picture for someone if they are having a computer problem. :) Just ask.

If you ever get a free photobucket account, it has an easy resize editor, too.

Under posting rules, what does it mean by "You may not post attachments?"

Do I get a penalty of some sort if a staff member deleted my post? :/ I accidently posted a link with two "http://"s instead of one, and apparently it took people to a phishing site. When I went back to fix it, it was gone... and now I feel like I'm in trouble or something. D:

It means that you cannot attach another file to your post. For example, you cannot upload a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet with your post.

I'll let staff answer your other question. :)

The post was deleted to ensure that no one followed the link. Seeing as you didn't intend to post a link to a phishing site, you're not in trouble.

You stand a good chance of getting your question answered if you take a peek at this thread. :)

I can answer this (seeing as I came up with the concept  )

On the Pottermore thread, I had said something along the lines of, "I'm not sleeping until I get my Pottermore account! Who's with me? We should be the Pottermore Battalion!" The name stuck and everyone ran with it. So it's just an idea of us diehard Potterheads banding together.

Funny I haven't received an invite to that group yet... :hmm:

Does anyone know if the forums from The Underground Lake are buried in the archives somewhere? I used to post there constantly and I thought it would be fun to go back and read through some of them.

The Underground Lake subforum is here, under the General Editorial forum. :)

Thanks for letting me know...too bad the threads are all gone. I suppose even electronic stuff can't last forever. :sigh:

I can see the threads in the Underground Lake. Here is #1 - Lost Day, Part 1.

http://www.mugglenet.com/editorials/...ke/tul01.shtml

The general editorials are on Mugglenet. We just have a link to the editorial here. And the discussion has always been on CoS. In fact, that is how I discovered this forum. I joined so that I could discuss the Mugglenet editorials, and then happened to notice that there was more to discuss than just the editorials. :)

That was me exactly too! In fact, I posted to the underground lake so much that I was expecting to get access to Hogsmeade at 300 posts, but almost ery post I had was at the lake and those didn't count. I had to post almost 300 more times in the right areas before I was given access.

I posted a few minutes ago in the Pottermore thread, but when I went back to edit my post, I couldn't find it. Is it possible to find out if it was deleted or if there was an error in the posting? I'm aware that it was slightly repeating the trend about the 'Congratulations' emails, but as everyone was trying to speculate as to whether there was a pattern, I thought it might be useful to post my experience so I just wanted to check what the violation was in the post.

Re: Ask the Staff v8

Hello, yes, your post was deleted because it was only sharing details about receiving Pottermore emails. Unfortunately, we cannot allow several posts with just information/queries about receiving/not receiving emails, just to deduce a pattern. Such posts would be more suited for the Pitchside: Halftime and Pottermore registration chat thread :)

^^^ This, is my question as well. I spent a good amount of time typing something up, and asking questions that I really wanted answered to return with my post gone. It upset me a bit because looking at some other post some just said 'I got my email!" and those were still there? Where I posted mine to get answers on some things...:(

Ahhhh, thanks very much! I didn't spot the post about the Pitchside thread until I went back after posting here (my browser's a little glitchy and keeps jumping down the page so I keep finding posts I've missed). Just to check, will it count against me in any way at all? I know a person above me asked, but as it was about a link, thought I'd check just to be sure.

The questions in your post have been answered already in the previous pages/posts. Please read through earlier pages before you post a question :)

No, it won't count against you in any way :) However, we do give warnings/forum bans if people repeatedly ignore in-threads by mods.
